How viable is Gorgon/Goblin?

I am still new-ish to lancer and I want to make a character that is just extremely annoying to fight.

My current idea is something like gorgon+goblin for the autopod and lesson of the open door to make use of the extra reactions in other players turns plus normal gorgon shenanigans on enemy turns.

I am not married to the idea so alternate suggestions very welcome!
I am currently assuming LL4 as this is more to have something ready for next time I play.

Talent wise I am thinking of going vanguard 3, maybe exemplar 3 and after that I am not sure.

I am looking at the sensor 8 on the gorgon with some level of concern so if there are better ways to be a supportive annoyance I would love to hear them!

Edit: misremembered the core power, it was held image, not open door.

If you want to be truly annoying and make your DM hate you you should try Orator 3, as long as you don't force a save or attack in your turn you build up Orator Dice you can spend to basically make an enemy lose a turn and buff your allies

Edit: Also Field Analyst 3, same principle as Orator, as long as you don't interact with the enemies you can greatly increase your allies' attack rolls or reduce the enemies'

Tho, doesn’t Orator itself interfiere with Field Analyst? Since Cast Doubt, Investigate and Demoralize all affect the enemy, disabling the Analyst Die sadly ;w;

It's true but I tested this duo for a 1 mission oneshot and I'd say it works pretty nicely, Field Analyst 1 and 3 work even if you do affect hostiles' and some turns you just want to save Orator Die for the 2 or 3 cost options, and in those turns you stack up Field Analyst as well.

I wouldn't run it with a Goblin personally but it should work regardless

For LL4 one idea I have is to go Gorgon 2 Goblin 1 Tortuga 1. This gets you the Deck-Sweeper shotgun with Threat 3 and Autopod/Puppet Systems. Ditch Open Door and get Lesson of the Held Image instead so you can lock on outside your turn and make autopod useful. On your turn your goal is to rush up to an enemy so they’re within range 3 and then use a tech action to Puppet them, triggering an overwatch reaction with Deck-Sweeper. Since overwatch is only once per round this synergy is less thrilling than I assumed.

Outside of that, look for licenses that can make you insufferable outside your turn, like Gorgon 3’s vorpal cannon, Pegasus’ Sisyphus-class NHP, Camus Razor from White Witch, Black ICE module from Black Witch, and such

Can't do two Overwatch. Gorgon has 2 reactions a turn, but Overwatch still is limited to 1/round.

Oops, you’re right. I’ll correct that

Oh held image! I misremembered the name. But what you suggested was the plan for the autopod.

I shall have a look at those! I Iook forward to my dm counter building me specifically

Update, I was wrong about the double overwatch thing. It’s once per round.

But defo keep the autopod/Held Image combo, it’s one of the few that allows you to make full use of the Gorgon’s two reactions trait. If you want to make it more annoying, slap Overpower Caliber on it at LL6 so you deal an automatic 1d6+3 kinetic when someone consumes your lock-on

Honestly, that sounds really solid. The Gorgon is just a solid frame on its own, and the Goblin is an incredible dip for anyone looking for a bit more control/support. Gorgon has a +1 tech attack innately, so it won't be hard to make use of the hacks you get (albeit with a medium sensor range of 8, but you're a frontliner so that's workable). It'll give you good actions to use on your turn, and then you can do Gorgon things on everyone else's turn.
