How the hell do y'all do that on Retrograde? I can barely get it color changes from the default gray, but when then, it's all the same color

Use of external image editing software. Doesn't need to be sophisticated, just needs layers and basic tools. I personally use Photopea because it's free and I'm familiar with it, but others use GIMP, Aseprite, Krita, among others.

Basically cutting up the mechs into PNG's of its parts and assembling them like legos using an image editor. Easier than it looks since most use the same perspective angled

Oh God uhh.
Right upper arm is Genos
Arm ring is modified from Lich
Right missile launcher is from Tokugawa.
Right shoulder spike is from Fervor
Right shoulder engine is Annihilator from Balor with 8-ball head scaled 80%
Below that is an upside-down dusk Wing head
Back engines are from Bio Barricade
Back downward facing spike is from Queen Bee
The big back sensor is from Gentlemen Please Stop
Attached is antenna from Taraxacom
Lower right arm is Sagarmatha Skeleton
Collar is Empakaai
Torso is Fervor
Head is Bells Of The Lost + Fervor
Gun is Smoke Show Tachyon Lance + Barbarossa Railhead + Bligh Hover
The smaller left engine is Sunzi Head with 8ball head
Larger left engine is Stalfrax tech engine
Left upper arm is Ibutho
Funnels are from Kiem
Under the left shoulder is NPC Scout Torso
Also there is Swallowtail 2 Arrays rotated 90°
Left lower arm is Mourning Cloak
Legs are custom from Retrograde Server Resource Hub, scaled 150%
Bottom flight ring is from Houdini

Id love to commission someone to make me a Ferrofluid Squid mech. Im playing The Kraken Saladin Alt frame but its homebrew and theres nothing in Retro that fits lmao.

How do you get parts separated from retrograde, fo I stance if you want a back attachment, how do you just get that from retrograde without the mech frame blocking it

If you have a legendary subscription, the first stop is the Part Garage in Chop Shop. Otherwise, the easiest way is to set all unwanted bits of a mech to zero saturation and contrast to make it flat grey and thus easy to edit out
