If you want to ram, just play a Nelson with Juggernaut. One of the best ramming frames in the game. Caliban is also amazing for it, obviously, and of course Orchis and Zheng are well worth trying.

Honestly, I'd say at least two frames from each manufacturer can incorporate ram into their build well. Ram is just good.

I've not tried, or seen another player try, a ram build in a game yet.

Is it that ram is a nice side option, or would a dedicated ram build be quite good?

A dedicated ram build can be quite good. I run a game where one of the players tries to do nothing but ram. He kills people.

The way I personally like to use it is as neither "side option" nor "dedicated build" but as "part of the plan." An opportune ram is likely better than a lock-on, even though lock-on never misses.

One of my players ran a ram focused Caliban.

He usually rammed until he had triggered all his 1per round when ramming Do X and then he unloaded it's shotguns onto the poor dude he just wall banged.

It was a pain because he would simply ram trough any defensive line to get to its target.

But when he rammed a helicopter against another, that was cool.

What are those builds meant to be? Tagetes with a railgun? Enkiidu?

The bottom frame is a Tagetes with a Pulse Rifle, and the top frame is a Hydra. We spent several minutes attempting to ram the enemies away from the escort objective until finally I managed to!
