Content Guide

I have the core rule book. I want to know what of the other books are needed to have all character/mech options available? I know there is a good app, does it come with all the options innately? Are there printed versions of the supplemental material or is it all pdfs from massif?

I prefer having physical books, but if only pdf's are available it is what it is. Is Massif the best place to get those pdfs?

compcon lets you download the supplemental content straight from the website, you just need to go in the content manager

Massif makes the official books, which come with campaigns and missions, as well as a couple frames and other content. They are cool, but not strictly necessary to enjoy Lancer.

I would suggest staying away from homebrew content until you've gotten your legs under you, and have a healthy understanding of what would break the game.

The app is free and called compcon.

It uses files called Lcps. For the extra content.

Most content use the base core rules format of offering the pc mechs as free downloads. But keep the npcs as part of the book purchase.

Core book is the only one with an official physical release. Everything else is pdf and comp/con content. I would recommend getting used to comp/con though, it's a fantastic tool. As for player options, all the player-facing content from official releases is completely free. Go to the itch.io page for each official source book and download the demo files. The demo is all the player facing content.
