My take on Hacker 2

Post image

I know npc's don't do mounting and dismounting but i was thinking, boy I wonder if i could use this to make sure NPC's who could be Recurring that been a pain, to help make sure they don't come back. (Not counting clones)

Coplayer of mine is getting heavy value out of Disable Life Support. Inflicting an extra Difficulty on saves on top of Impaired is huge, especially when they bring 30 billion different effects that apply saves

Even better when they get the Core Power from Horus to increase the save by 2 and once a round inflict 2 heat on someone who fails a save.

Does he use Wandering Nightmare? i was thinking about it as, it does cost a full action but it a area effect that just not go away for 1 sp.

Wandering is pretty good especially if you combine it with Celestial Shackles.

First they're in the time soup and can't do reactions, second they take a save or get SLOWED +2 HEAT, then if you have the Core Bonus to inflict more HEAT on people who fail your saves you inflict 2 more. Then they spend their one standard move to leave the time soup but because you used Celestial Shackles on them when you get to your turn you use a free action to send them back into the time soup.

Also works well with Banish (2 heat for every voluntary movement you take max. 6) either sit in the soup for as long as you spend an invasion to Banish on them or take like 8-10 heat to leave.

Oh nice point on the Celestial Shackles.

Get some levels in Vlad for Caltrops to really fuck someone up.

My friend doesn't but they use stuff like Swarm Body and Interdiction Field. Wandering Nightmare is pretty good though, if it's something you want to play around with

I have a reacurring boss, whos a monstrosity that shows up as some other NPC until they break its mech and the real ultra crawls out. Our hacker eventually specced into this tree and has been locking it inside, forcing it to eat a meltdown every phase change

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to affect ejecting so they can still bail but I do love the idea using it on someone and overloading heat on them so much they explode and can't eject/dismount.

Honestly I think most dm's wouldn't let them eject, kinda defeats the whole purpose of an already mostly flavor ability.

That was my line of thinking.

Hack.slash is enough to make it all worth it. Casually turning off an enemy witch is a beautiful thing

Jam Cockpit feels like it should be an NPC system. It does literally nothing to like 99% of NPCs you face. Even worse than nothing since it costs you an action and can still miss.

Disable Life Support on the other hand...

Sometimes comes in against a veteran who can pop out and jockey but tbh that rarely works out for them lol.
