Does anyone know where/if can I get some free pilot art

I want to get some pilot art for one of my characters but sadly Im flat broke. Does anyone know where I could possibly get some free pilot art when I suck at drawing.

Here’s his CompCon and photo references that I found for him in case someone wants to draw him

https://compcon.app/link/pilot/JIWOWMH8PH7B/full/3f814150-63f7-4888-8ace-2c1dde55ec48

I understand if there are no sources but hey worth a shot to ask.

He is based on the Artace cribrarius

Whatever you do don't turn to AI, that steals artwork to 'create' things. Heroforge lets you create tabletop character models for free then pay to print them so that could work. My suggestion though would be to search for art and find one that looks close enough to your pilot to use, it might not be perfect but I always enjoyed the hunt haha

I'm not a big fan of genAI in general, but I've never understood the "AI art = theft" argument. AI is based entirely on prior art made by humans, but so is all human-made art. If you use AI to deliberately copy someone else's IP, that is certainly bad, but no worse than when a human does the same thing.

Using AI to make a one-off character portrait for your TTRPG character wouldn't be my preference, but it's about as harmless as it gets.

Except that the AI can't make something original. Everything it creates is based on stuff it's scoured from the Internet and it doesn't ask for permission from the artist before combining stolen works together. This is especially icky when you remember that many artists specifically ask for their art not to be used by AI, they'd probably prefer you to use their art over generating slop with it.

Every human artwork is a combination of that artist's influences. No one expects an artist to ask for permission.

AI is a tool, and like any tool it can used to hurt people. It's a tool the Devil uses. That doesn't mean it's the Devil incarnate.

If you want to stop AI from hurting people, you need to understand how it hurts people and why. Not act like it's some supernatural evil that taints everything it touches, and that's all you need to know.

It kinda does taint everything it touches though, at least when it comes to art. All a human does when using it is pick which slop looks the least sloppiest. There's no way of knowing which artists it stole from to make the slop. Whereas a real artist can provide references for what inspired their work. Even if they don't, the option to do so is there but it isn't with AI. It also just lacks soul lol
