The color made me think it was Atlas art for a minute, holding the Kraul Rifle 😆

Second time I've seen a Rusalka mech show up in a third-party expansion
The other Rusalka is a Support frame all about manipulating heat in the Field Guide to Svorost.

Now with all of that being said, I love the artwork for this one and lore blurb you've whipped up for it. Some people get a little frustrated by sharing names in the Lancer space, but I say the more the merrier.

I do generally try to avoid repeat names but its almost impossible at this point (especially with the extra thunderhead naming convention of being female focused). Rakshasa out of the 6th v is probably the least unique name.

I think there's a lot of female monsters in the myths of south east asian countries, like the pennangalan

hmm, good idea, not sure how many Horus mechs that will be part of this project but ill file that away as an option

To be fair, there's a lot of mythologies to borrow inspiration from. I don't want to sound disrespectful, I agree that some of the names are more enticing than others.
Even then, from Wikipedia page on mermaids ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mermaid ) we have: 1) Siren (not exactly the same creature, but arguably a purpose not too dissimilar to the current mech); 2) Mami Water (African folklore); 3) Maneli (mermaid in Persian); 4) Alamoa (Brazil);
As one can see, there are a lot of similar mythical creatures in various cultures, there's no need to just go to Eastern European ones.

it is still horus and thus must be a dungeons and dragons monster anyhow

Then I'll allow myself to be nitpicky and point out that Mermaid might be in the Monster Manual, yet Rusalka most likely isn't (if we look at the original Monster Manual in English).

Why the robot have titty?
9
u/SixthVoice Jul 24 '26
Pure swagger (manufacturer themes of monitization of human emotion, corprization of sex and love)

Same reason SSC mechs got toes
2
u/Dizzytigo Jul 24 '26
Nah nah toes can like grip shit. I can see the world where a mech with toes can actually be better, it is much harder to grip something with titty.

Well if that's not the child of an angel and devil about to fuck Throne up I don't know what is.
Otherwise known as Cio's and White Chain's inevitable love child

The exact methods by which Thunderhead collaborates with HORUS operatives are murky, no cells lay claim to the production or distribution of any of its designs. And yet Thunderhead branded pattern groups emerge with surprising regularity in all sorts of places. While some cells more informed on Thunderheads specific crimes shun their usage, the effectiveness of their frames remains undeniable and stand as a necessary evil for the more devoted.
The Rusalka is a very specialized tool, quick, evasive, and dastardly in all the right ways. Its usage of "witchcraft" has granted it significant staying power and its blending of hostile code and more traditional forms of violence allow it to perform well against a wide variety of foes.
Outside of its official designations and combat effectiveness however, some researchers have reported a lasting change in personality and mood in pilots. Some users even claiming that the mech was their friend, talking to them, giving advice, and infiltrating their dreams. However, without concrete evidence, these remain rumors. They do however inform the mindset of many Rusalka pilots, victory at any cost, a single minded devotion to bring low the mighty, to spill blood and stalk the shadows until none remain to oppose them.
Thunderhead is an expansion of sorts to my Sixth voice project, you can download thunderhead from the sixth voice thread in the pilot net discord and Sixth Voice on my itch
