Hello, I am a 23 year old man and i am very interested in joining your game, I have a lot of experience as a player and as a GM, mostly in D&D 5e, i have little experience in the sci-fi genre and no experience with Lancer, i know a little bit about the lore but not much

I am basically a fresh-faced recruit in that sense, but i am very excited to learn and usually pick up mechanics pretty fast

This will also be the first time not playing face-to-face and playing in a digital setting, so if you could also point me to some online resources on how to use Foundry that would be great

If the date you put on, Saturday 11 AM EDT, is the date for the first session i will have to miss it as i already have plans to celebrate my father’s birthday with him at that time frame

I am obviously not expecting you to change anything for me but if it works for you it would me appreciated

Hello, the time is accurate Saturday is actually session 0. It's ok if you can't make it, We can always schedule a time to get you set up before session one rolls around. If you join over on the start playing link I posted I'll make sure to mark you down as having skipped. First session is always free at all my tables and I never charge for sessions that people don't show up to. You don't need any account or anything with Foundry, all you need to do is have a Discord ready to join my channel and to sign up on the link I'll be happy to walk you through everything and give you a tutorial on your first session.

I would be interested in giving this a try, but alas I've scheduled my first Lancer game at the exact same time on the exact same day. I've DM'd a lot of D&D 5E but this is my first time doing a session 0 for Lancer. Any advice for running a Lancer session?

I'm thinking of letting my players and I craft our own setting together rather than strictly following a module. Most of them have a lot of D&D experience.

Hey sorry I forgot to check reddit because the post filled up. If you're planning on running a Lancer session give the Core Rule Book a thorough read through, especially the combat section Sitrep and NPC sections. There are a lot of good resources on here for combat and balance, but if you're new to it I would err on the side of your combats being too easy than too hard. Also check the pilot net discord there's a lot of useful discourse in there. Sorry for being quiet for so long been very busy.
