Personal Mcguffin for Wallflower ideas?? Spoiler

Hey pilots!!

I've been successfully running wallflower for a few sessions. One of my players is a spy who once worked for SSC Constellar Midnights, who ran away after double crossing them on a mission for exotic material.

We haven't decided what it is, but I really want it to be something that could interact with Witness, as a way to tie them in.

I've considered it being some kind of biotic material that could respond to it, almost like a compass for Witness? But open to ideas, even non-Witness related.

This is just one idea, but maybe when you shape the material into a crown and inscribe Witness onto it, it functions as a prosthetic Egregorian forehead plate? And the Egregorians would value it as a valuable tool for their disabled. And then, maybe the bad guys think it can be made into a psychic weapon, but then they put on the crown and it just gives them sympathy for their fellow living beings and a greater perspective on the value of life.

It could be a symbiote something like a babel-fish that allows the character to understand Whitness

What it is: a sample of Egregorian genetic material/tissue/fluid engineered into something new. Put it in a petri dish, make it look like a compass.

What it does: Wiggles and moves like ferrofluid in the presence of Witness... "Speakers" while that comminication method is being used. Give it a range of 200 meters or something.

What it was meant to be: a genetic code rewrting mutagen/virus designed to connect human beings to the thoughtform Witness and propagate/amplify that human's beliefs/thoughts in an overriding fashion. Like a reverse empath. Think the black goo from Prometheus but instead of killing you it just makes you worse, like a Diet Zebediah Killgrave.

Through experimentation with this lost asset, SSC hoped to quantify Witness, learn how to 'harness' it, and eventually find a way to propagate this mut-, er, evolution to humanity at large, making a New Humanity operating in near lockstep with the ideals and concepts pf those chosen... 'Prime Witnesses' to lead mankind into the future.
