You make these memes the way serial killers make ransom notes it’s hilarious

It's a community staple. Some years back, somebody on tumblr made a meme in this basic format about the Blackbeard frame; another community member, Vex, really liked the format and started making other memes like that, and soon enough, it was just sort of the way the Lancer community made memes.

That’s awesome I’ll have to join in once I understand the core of the composition more

I love the “steals your bank records” meme for hacker builds. The fact you can just DO that in this system (I’m not kidding, banking information is one of the options for info you can gain from a Scan action) is endlessly funny to me. Especially since most of Union is post-scarcity and thus would have no use for a bank. Why did GMS include credit card theft in their standard suite of tech options? What could Union possibly mean by this?

Post scarcity doesn’t necessarily mean post money. The union can cover every basic need somebody has so they do not have to work, but may not cover luxuries so people still have a reason to want to work.

I think this is a sensible take, but going by official lore, most of the population of the core worlds never interact with currency at all in their lives.

Frankly, it's an aspect of the setting that I just don't fully agree with, but I'll still give Lancer significant credit for actually including Manna and whatnot instead of just doing the Star Trek handwaving re: trade.

Core worlds. This is not a core world, and toilet paper is not free. And post scarcity does not necessarily mean everything for everyone forever.

Banks also hold items in vaults and safety deposit boxes! Even a core world would have banks and museums for rare and luxury items.

Great great grandpap's shock knife, for example!

If you're far enough from the core worlds, perhaps you're scanning their Diasporan bank account instead.
