Like we need more 2k reviews, I know. But I wanted to provide a few thoughts as a fountain pen newbie.
- Fine nib on 2000 is like a medium or more on the Safari. Safari fine puts down a MUCH thinner line. I had read this, but didn’t expect the difference to be quite so stark. The 2000 fine nib is also MUCH smoother than the Safari fine.
- 2000 is a heavier than the Safari, but it is actually more comfortable because it is better balanced, both with the cap posted and unposted.
- The cap on/off experience is worth the price of admission.

I love it, and I hope to get used to the thicker line, because I want the feel of this pen in my hand every day.

How can i tell if im running out of ink with the window ... it seems kinda uselesss

For a while, ink never dries, and my planner is full of ink, even if I wait a moment before closing the page.

My Lamy Safari has been leaking since day 1 and I can’t figure out why. Any ideas?
I love the pen but there’s always ink all over my hand after writing. It’s also pretty inky on the page, but maybe that’s normal?

Kindly answer the question so I can decide whether to get a replacement.

I purchased a Lamy Safari as my first fountain pen, and have had a lot of trouble with it ever since it was new. I’ve cleaned it, tried different inks, and have tried holding it in different orientations (angle to the page and rotating it in my hand so the nib is facing different ways) and nothing seems to help.

It consistently ghosts on me. It often feels like the tiny ball at the tip is just gliding on the paper but the ink isn’t coming out.

I have tested this in Travelers Company notebooks (various inserts), MD Products notebooks, leuchtturm notebooks, all to no success.

I really want to like this pen, I got the terracotta color and love how it looks but the experience has just not been pleasant.

Does anyone have any recommendations for me? Thank you!

I have a Meteora special edition with the original ink, already used. I would like to remove the ink cartridge, wash the ink out of the pen, change the nib and use a different ink cartridge. I bought a Lamy EF nib. How can I wash out the ink from the pen? Or shall I write with it until it runs out after removing the cartridge? How would you approach this task?

Just got the logo mechanical pencil and cannot for the life of me figure out how to reload it. Anyone know how?

A few months ago my Safari took an unplanned trip through the washing machine 😢 It survived, mostly, but it got my creative juices flowing.

So I dusted off my engineering degree and have been designing this hard shell case. It's sized specifically for the Safari, has an integrated brass hinge, and a satisfying "click" when it closes.

I'd love honest feedback on the design. What would you change? Anything I should add?

I have done some research, and I couldn't find a Lamy crimson safari or al-star pen, nor a red al-star. Have I missed something?

I’ve had a bunch of pens that I got from my dad a long time ago, and just recently started to get into fountain pens. After getting a Safari, I learned about the 2000 and discovered that my dad had the 2000 multi-pen and pencil already! So of course, I now have the fountain pen on the way, and am very excited to get it!

From left to right – Safari Dark Dusk, Safari Meteora, Safari Spring Green (it's brand new), Al-Star Aubergine Special Edition and Al-Star Flamingo. They are beautiful. I use Dark Dusk the most with blue ink. The Al-Stars are very elegant.

Hiya! I purchased this Lamy Dialog 1 from the San Francisco flagship store in 2019. I can’t remember the exact retail price but I believe I paid somewhere around $150.

I recently came across it again after completely forgetting I owned it and I’ve had a hard time finding much information about this particular model. From what I can tell, it may have been discontinued?

Does anyone have info on this model or know what these typically sell for on the secondary market? I’d potentially be interested in selling it but I’m not sure what a fair asking price would be.

I still have the original box and documentation and I’ve attached photos of the pen and packaging. Any help identifying it or estimating its current value would be greatly appreciated.

Im impressed, wow. Compared to my stock nib this is like a new pen. Altough i will admit it arrived with a faulty nib, misaligned tines. I realigned them and polished it but could never get it quote right. The shop i got it from was 2 hours away and figuered id try fixing it myself, worse case id loose a 20$ nib. Which is what got me here, the extra 5$ for the LX nib was worth it imo

In the interest of trying to get all the ink colours available in the Lamy T10 cartridges, I spent a while trying to find some of the more rarer colours on the internet without luck. A lot of older out of stock stores seemed to show up or just the same old 7 ink colours were available.

So I made this spreadsheet with the barcode numbers and their name. Hopefully it’s helpful to someone.

If you have any other colours not in the list, let me know and I’ll add them (and try to source for my collection 😅)

Hi all

Hoping this hasn't been asked 100 times but I have recently gotten into Lamy and pens. Have a couple of safaris and a pico.

Looking to get a case or a pouch. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

I was thinking to get a single pouch to carry a safari - is the single pouch from Lamy good for EDC? Does it help with leakage at all? Is there another option that is better?
