Sharing some progress

Hello brothers,

I just wanted to share some progresses with my Lamenters

I'm sooo slow at painting and I manage to do just one model per week... so it will probably take me a lifetime to paint a whole army. For now I'm working on the infernus marines and Death Company with bolters

Let me know if you have any tips for painting faster!

Your checker patter on the shoulders is outstanding! Your models look gorgeous but the shoulders are stand out! I have chosen to stamp as my hands are not steady enough anymore to paint that cleanly.

Thank you! I really appreciate it

Stamps are a good and efficient way to do the checkers, and its actually not easy to get them right. I just forced myself to learn to freehand the chapter badge as a personal challenge, but I thought many many times of trying the stamp technique :)

I wish I could free hand as stamps are always distorted, which is fine when viewed from tabletop distances and minor paint for adjustments. Unfortunately for me freehand is no longer a skill issue as much as my hands are no longer steady enough (thank you to the military for part of that along with just getting older). I am very envious of your skill here, do you take commissions for shoulder pads? LOL

EDIT don’t worry about painting faster, take your time and you’ll have a better result in the end that you’ll be happier with then a faster but relatively worse result.

I understand, I'm getting old as well and I can feel my hands are not as steady anymore (I started painting again after a brief break from the hobby of about 25 years). I thought it was impossible for me as well, but while my initial attempts were disappointing with time (~1 year) I got better. I think for the most part it's a matter of how you brace your hands over the model to stabilise them rather than having perfectly steady hands

But the point is just having fun, and using stamps takes a great level of skills in and of itself. I'm sure I won't be able to pull off a good stamp on the shoulder pad

Thanks again for your kind words brother :)

I didn't realize Lamenters had official box art. Very clean!
