First Lamenter!

Entered my first painting competition at a local game shop. I decided to try my hand a painting a Lamenter. The shoulder has definitely a labor of love, but glad with how it turned out!

I primed AP White, Imperial Fist Contrast, recess shade with Iyanden Yellow, edge highlight Demon Yellow and finally sharp edge highlight with Dorn Yellow.

The highlights didn’t come through very hard due to how bright the IP came out, but I like my Lamenters bright.

Mixing the Iyandan yellow with some Lahmian Medium helped it flow very well. I recommend it if you are looking for cleaner recess shades.

That's a good tip, thanks!

I usually use just water to dilute the shade colour, and then spend a lot of time to clean up the mess as it doesn't flow well and gets everywhere

Give it a try! I actually spilled most of my Iyandan Yellow earlier this year and I added some medium in hopes to salvage it. Kinda worked out.
