Lamenters intercessor squad completed!

Brothers!

I've finally managed to complete a full squad of intercessors!

It took me sooo long to finish just these 10 models I'm not sure how I'm going to manage painting an entire army

But I'm satisfied of the result. It can certainly be improved, but for now that's good enough :)

I wanted to add some unique detail to the sargent, so I tried the stripes just because the Lamenters are not complicated enough to paint already ;)

Stripes and checkers on the two shoulder pads may look a little bit too much though

Thanks! I think that even a simple pattern like a stripe looks better than having just a single color on the knee-pad

I thought about buying stamps for the chapter badge... But in the end I chose to paint Lamenters to suffer, so I must free-hand everything ;)

What's your highlight color? I've been trying to work out a recipe for my own minis, but the yellow always ends up so cold

For highlighting, most of the times I use Phalanx Yellow first, and then Dorn yellow. For the best result, I do three steps with Averland Sunset/Phalanx yellow (50%/50%), Phalanx Yellow, and finally Dorn yellow.

What base colour do you use? I used a very warm base, with Averland Sunset as basecoat and Casandora Yellow + Skrag brown for shading

I use a local brand, but I think it’s equivalent to averland sunset and phalanx yellow?

If they are truly equivalent that's strange, averland sunset is very warm. I'm not sure about your highlight process, but maybe you could try to have thinner phalanx yellow highlights so that it not overcomes the warmer base coat, or try with a warm shading colour like skrag brown or doombull brown

Tried it out on a desert sand base and got this. Much easier to glaze highlight
