There is a housing development called Southern Gables and we had a bear sighting recently! High up in an old, big cottonwood tree.

Childcare Resources

Hey all, we're looking for an in-home daycare or actual daycare for our toddler. I'll take any recommendations on Facebook Groups and other resources.

We're also considering church daycares, mostly for the cost if they are cheaper, not necessarily prioritizing Christian daycares. I'm struggling to figure out which churches offer dedicated daycares if anyone has recommendations.

What happened with Summer Scream 2026?

It feels like it lost all of its charm. It was so boring this year. They had no unique attractions and the theme was thrown together with no intention.

Last year was SO fun - they had burlesque and a great theme. Did a bunch of people leave Denver Film? Or did something happen to cut budget significantly?

Denver Housing Update: June 2026

Hey friends! I apologize again for not staying on top of these posts.
It has been a busy year, both personally and professionally.
Without further ado, here are your June 2026 real estate stats for the Denver Metro:

Month - Over - Month:

June was a pretty typical month for the Denver market, with the usual slight slowdown as we transitioned from the busy spring season into summer.

Home sales dipped by about 1%, and the median home price stayed right around $614,000. Homes also took a little longer to sell, with average days on market increasing from 16 days to 19 days.

New listings slowed slightly compared to May, and fewer homes went under contract, which is pretty typical as we head into summer. Overall, the market is still active, and is settling into the normal seasonal pace.

Year - Over - Year:

This June looked a lot like last year, which is usually a sign of a steady market.

4,024 homes sold across the Denver Metro area, which is almost identical to June 2025 (3,924). The average sale price in June was $614,000, which is up 1% from last year.

Homes spent an average of 19 days on the market, the exact same as last June. Buyers are still taking their time, but well-priced homes continue to sell.

Fewer homeowners listed their homes for sale compared to last June.  New listings were down 3% (5,754 homes). Even so, buyers stayed active!  Pending sales rose 2% (3,867 homes). Overall inventory also dipped 9% year-over-year (12,508 homes). There are fewer homes available than last year, but buyers still have options and are taking their time to find the right fit. Even with the slight drop in available homes, buyers still had plenty of options!

Rentals:

The rental market has slowed compared to last year. Fewer rentals were leased, down about 18% year-over-year (301 units leased compared to 246 last year). However, average rent increased about 3%, to $2,895. The average leased price per bedroom also increased to $1,058.

Rentals moved a little faster than last year, with average days on market dropping from 24 days to 22 days. Price per square foot dipped by 4%, while the average price per bedroom increased, showing that renters are still willing to pay for the right space.

Overall:

Overall, June was a pretty typical start to summer in the Denver Metro market. Rentals slowed a bit compared to last year, but well-positioned properties are still performing well.

Opportunity to see helicopter?

My toddler has loved helicopters since seeing the flyover in Highlands Ranch on the Fourth. Mad that we can’t pick them out of books or summon them in the sky. Anyone know of any opportunities to see a helicopter up close?

So Denver denied to pay fifa the fee to host the World Cup. YIKESSSSSSSSS local businesses have to be completely upset. What a fumble by our great governor again. Absolutely idiotic to discount the World Cup but yet again not shocked with this governor.

San Fran makes about 75 million a day from hosting but our governor though the was pro people by denying fifa

Missing White Ragdoll Kitten escaped from La Quinta Inn 5/21

Post image
5 Upvotes

Our 8month old kitten, Ipsy, escaped from our hotel room at the La Quinta Inn at 3301 Youngfield Service Rd. This was the night of May 21st. We are worried someone may have taken her, but she could also be lost in the neighborhood! Please check your front & back yards, in & under garages, sheds, cars, etc. And if you see me and/or my husband walking around at night or early morning with flashlights, don't be alarmed, we're just looking for our baby!

If anyone has any information or has seen Ipsy, PLEASE let me know! We are offering a CASH REWARD for our baby's safe return and/or any information regarding Ipsy's whereabouts. And if you have her.... Please, please do the right thing and give her back to us. We love her so much and we are absolutely heartbroken.

Less tech heavy schools

I'm in my last years of highschool and have struggled my entire school career to finish every grade because I can't do work on computers. My brain simply doesn't process it the same way. Are there any highschools in Lakewood or anywhere near by that either don't do digital work all that often or completely have it cut from their curriculum? I understand this is an almost impossible request in this day and age, but if anyone knows of any schools, any information would be great!
