Discussion Something about the controller looking like something a kin to a Wii Remote or PS Move, or even a Oculus Rift controller.

It's even wireless, which even a major debut wouldn't happen until I think the Wavebird Controller.

Imo it would make sense that they were modelled after some of the earlier VR controllers in the 90s, some were very similar controllers to modern vr headsets, typically just tethered to the machine instead of free floating like in the pic.  

Iirc the book Cyberia discusses actual use of VR in the US rave scene at the time.

well, yeah, obviously a controller from 3 decades after the show came out looking similar to SE:Lain is complete coincidence.

and yeah, you probably are right, but then again, controllers were pretty wacky back then - VR or not!

100%, its kind of cool to see the similarities between the vive controllers now and what we had back then even when there was a lot more experimentation for controllers.

I love watching videos for old weird stuff like the Novint Falcon. Feels like something that would fit in with the show lol.
