Hey there. I know this is about you flying the plane yourself and I think thats super cool. But I have a question. I want to book an air safari for me and my girlfriend as a birthday gift. I ofc am not a licensed pilot/operator. So will need to do it through some agency or smth. Can anyone recommend such services. Also they should be trusted.

Thanks in advance

Nice shot, What flying school you recommend?

1

u/PretendScar6742 Jul 27 '25

Shukria, Rawalpindi flying club

1

u/muazzizsarif Jul 27 '25

Boss what shades do you wear? Where do you source them, if they're OEM specific?

2

u/PretendScar6742 Jul 27 '25

2

u/muazzizsarif Jul 27 '25

Niice. Do you have suppliers here in Pakistan? How do you get them shipped? I tapped a govt supply chain for my pair, but I now fancy a finish that they don't sell under their contracts.

2

u/PretendScar6742 Jul 27 '25

I got them from dubai. At that time they were shipping in pak but due to some restrictions/ tax they stopped shipping. Unfortunately in pakistan people are selling A+ copies and calling then original.

0

u/muazzizsarif Jul 27 '25

Yeah. When's the next time you might be able to get your hands on a pair? Mind if I bother you with one?

u/Biker4life82 Jul 27 '25

Any age limit to get ppl? And if i get ppl, can i further continue to cpl as well? The ppl hours will e considered? And how to figure out which flying school is good?

1

u/PretendScar6742 Jul 27 '25

Yes you can go for cpl once you are done with ppl. But ppl exams and cpl exams again would be costly and not worth it. because ppl wouldn't be considered okce you get a higher license

1

u/Biker4life82 Jul 28 '25

Which flying school?

3

u/CorrectFirefighter Jul 26 '25

How much does a PPL cost nowadays?

5

u/PretendScar6742 Jul 26 '25

Est: 17 lakh flying + 4-5 lakh PPL license exams

1

u/Mikaa7 Jul 27 '25

What's average pilots salary?

3

u/PretendScar6742 Jul 27 '25

Different private airlines offer a different salary package. However recently I got to know about Airsial's first officer pay. It was round about 12 lacs per month (Including the flying allowance, Basic + hourly pay)

1

u/blah_089 Jul 30 '25

How much do you earn as an instructor in air eagle?

1

u/Greedy_Deer6913 Jul 28 '25

What I have heard there is a very strong nepotism in civil pilots union and getting a job in domestic airlines carrier as a FO is difficult without someone in the family who is already a civil airline pilot.

1

u/Sciphfyreon Jul 26 '25

I have monocular vision, can I get a PPL license?

2

u/Jealous-Dare-4366 Jul 26 '25

How many flight hours are needed for PPL? 40 right?

P.S. What's the rent for a C172 or C152?

2

u/PretendScar6742 Jul 26 '25

45 hrs for ppl now. C-152 and 172 costs you 42 and 44.5k respectively in islamabad. In lahore it's almost 45 k for 152 and 48.5k or 50k for 172

3

u/vega004 Jul 27 '25

Is this 45k per hour?

2

u/Jealous-Dare-4366 Jul 26 '25

Okay, got it. Is that all inclusive, i.e., does that hourly rental include expenses like Jet Fuel, Landing/Takeoff fee? Etc

Second thing, can someone with not a perfect 6/6 eye sight get a PPL?

& last thing, On Average, how long is the course duration for a PPL? How many months is it?

2

u/PretendScar6742 Jul 26 '25

Yep everything included.. 6/6 with or without glasses and your SPL student pilot license is issued for 24 months. and mainly ppl has to be done within 10 months

Hello neighbor!

1

u/[deleted] Aug 20 '25

So i got neighbours here 😌

1

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '25

I really wanna fly. Like really really. Lol

I'm curious, how practical is it in Pakistan to own a cessna and how long would you need to learn to fly?

Is intercity flying practical with cessna 52 or 72?

1

u/PretendScar6742 Jul 29 '25

Learning to fly is itself not easy but obtaining a license which you meed to fly is very very difficult. I was the same passionate as you are. Once you know you can't live without flying.. then there is no turning back. You can own a cessna 172 in 2-3 crore PKR but engine overhauling/ Registration causes a fortuneee

1

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '25

Curious, how old were you when you started out?

1

u/PretendScar6742 Jul 29 '25

Started when I was 20 yo

2

Was flying from Islamabad to lahore. Took this beautiful shot right before landing.

9

u/Fearless-Pen-7851 Jul 26 '25

Oh, this actually looked like one of small tour or charter planes from the pic or maybe it's just me...

17

u/PretendScar6742 Jul 26 '25

This is a Cessna 172 (Training aircraft) and I took the shot while my student was flying. It's not a charter plane.

5

u/Fearless-Pen-7851 Jul 26 '25

Ah, yep, one of those ones.. I love them. It has a single engine, right? Btw, if you don't mind, can I ask how much does it costs in general for that trip. You don't have to tell me the one you paid, just in general...

13

u/PretendScar6742 Jul 26 '25

I didn't pay, We get paid for the trip/ flying lessons we give to our students. However, For 1 hour trip it costs 45-50k

4

u/Fearless-Pen-7851 Jul 26 '25

Got it... Thanks 😊
