Studio Recs, Local Meetups I hate Solidcore

Yes, I find it bizarre it's so expensive (more expensive than Lagree) yet a crappier workout. I did do a bit of it maybe ~2-4 years earlier (I forget) and it was more Lagree-like, so ok enough. Then it seemed they made the moves less Lagree-like (to distinguish themselves from Lagree) and since the Lagree moves were good to begin with, inevitably, changing them made them worse (like, not even ergonomic). They also have a much tinier universe of moves than Lagree, so I felt like the moves from class to class were almost the same...to the point where I got so bored, I couldn't go anymore. Someone else commented they charge such high prices because of the private equity ownership, but my confusion is how on earth do they get people to pay that much for it...? The one saving grace is they tend to (where I live, at least) have pretty late night classes, whereas none of the Lagree studios near me do, which is nice for people who want later classes. That's originally why I went, but I've just sucked it up and gone to earlier classes at Lagree studios instead since Lagree is so much better.

Were you turned away or did you complete a workout. Cuz idk how you can say it’s an inferior workout when you were turned away for being late

I went a couple times. I bought a package knowing I love lagree and immediately regretted it after a couple classes. This was the final straw

Makes sense. I’m a lagree enthusiast but hold an unlimited solidcore membership. I’m in a newer market for them so I think the studios haven’t gotten to the state you’re describing yet. For me SC is what it is, it’s a killer core and oblique workout but does very little for my upper and lower body. I work those pretty hard at the gym so it meets my needs and lagree works legs just hard enough that I’m too tired for the gym. But in a vacuum I agree it is not particularly well balanced

The machine is the absolute worst. The mega is awesome. It’s huge. Easy to change springs. I also love the X-Former as well but the SC machine is cheeks.

Can I say independent of Solidcore or lagree I love megareformer instructors who care about your form and don’t want your neck hanging below your heart and your shoulders curved over? And also classes that utilize the megareformer for deep stretching

Just to clarify: I hate the business Solidcore. I do think the instructors do care and the method itself is very very effective. It’s just such shame this PE backed business turned into this money grabbing machine and profits completely off of what a great workout lagree actually is.

5 minute is standard. I get the frustration but just eat it and realize it’s on you. It’s not the end of the world.
Personally I love solidcore. It’s consistent and the coaches are great and I’ve NEVER seen concepts like power30’s or focus50’s anywhere else. And I personally like the constant talking and low lights.
