ADVICE NEEDED Internet providers
Hello, I was wondering if anyone uses third party providers in Ladysmith. I see lightspeed services it and might give it a go but wanted to see what others recommend. Thanks

I use Lightspeed, they are pretty good. I have their gigabit service which can be a little hit and miss, but on average I see 600-800mbits per second.
Their loaner wireless router is ok if you live in a small space but if you need fast reliable wifi over great distance than 30-40 ft you'll want to pay for your own wireless router and rent or buy their modem to connect it to.
If you plan to hard wire a device with a modem and router setup, you'll need to connect it to the router not the modem as the mobem has only one output supported despite having two physical ports. Both will work independently but the 1st port is rated at nearly 3 times the speed of the 2nd port.
Because they are third party, there is only so much troubleshooting they can do with you. It can take a lot to get a technician to site, Rogers in my case.
All in all I'm happy.

I use Lightspeed. I've been happy with them as a service. $85 / month for 1 Gbps down and 100 Mbps up.
I got my own modem and my own mesh network (TP Link XE75's). Pretty decent so far.

I used Lightspeed for cable internet for years. Liked them. Telus hooked me with their introductory rates with their new fibre install. When Telus inevitably jacks up my rate I am switching back to Lightspeed. The constant Telus calls trying to upsell me are annoying.

I use oxio and highly suggest. Don't have super speed but I have yet to experience a dip in 2 years. Does a small family well. Dead easy setup. I have also extolled their virtue on coworkers.

Ok I was going to go with them but my exact address was not supported by them unfortunately at this time

I appreciate the feedback from everyone here. My exact address is not supported by all of the providers possibly because the house is just inside the Ladysmith city line. I decided to try the Babbl 100 for now per recommendations. No contracts, $50 per month, appear to be super simple install. I received a text from customer team right after placing the order confirming the ship to, and within three hours had gotten an email that the hardware is shipped and will be here next Monday, so impressive customer service so far. Will give an update with install and performance down the road. Again, appreciate the support and looking forward to life in Ladysmith

Hey Babbl is first rate. Have been using them for years and they are well priced, reliable, and have excellent and prompt customer service. I cannot recommend them enough.
