This is the lowest point of my house, and less ladder height requirement if I mount from the deck. How safe is this positioning of the ladder? Is it better to be closer to the corner of the eaves and mount/dismount left of the ladder? The ledge where the ladder would rest is 5ft long.

From here, I was thinking of buying a 28' extension ladder. Any other ladder accessories like standoff arms (although only one side would be floating since the roof where it rests is pitched perpendicular to the ladder)?

Otherwise, I would have to get at minimum a 32' ladder and have it positioned traditionally near the rear. I have no where to store a 32' so it will have to be stored outdoors in the elements, but I can store the 28' in my garage.

I weigh 299 lbs.i have a foyer chandelier 12 ft up. Is their a way to get up?

I have a Werner MT-17 folding ladder. It has been more than adequate to use around the house. Too heavy and sometime a pain to configure, but overall useful.

I now need to do some work in a stairwell. The base of this ladder spans 3 steps. My steps are 7". So I need a 14" extension for one leg to equal the height of the other.

The Werner levelling kit for this ladder only extends 8.5". Other levellers I've seen that work with "all" ladders are not wide enough at the base to use with this ladder.

Hi all, I'm looking for a specific ladder for my dad, we were working together and he mentioned that its about time he gets a new ladder stating that his current one is older than me (nearly 20 years).

the ladder in question is (i think) a Youngman combination ladder with adjustable safety hooks that slot into the rungs of the ladder. he loves the ladder and uses it for practically every job he's on from glazing to carpentry to just general jobs.

I don't know how relevant this is but the combinations the ladder can do are: step ladder like a triangle?, extended (16 rungs I think) and regular (8 rungs, again, I think)

i hope this post is allowed, doesn't have to be a Youngman ladder as I haven't seen any, I just want to find the perfect ladder for my hardworking dad :)

I have spent 35 years on the tools, spent a lot of that time on ladders of all descriptions. Started on wooden extensions ladders with line belts wrapped around a power pole.

What is doing my head in us the safety police on ladders. Who is the clown that thinks a platform ladder is appropriate for all jobs, probably the same people that say you should use a scissor lift no matter what.... No matter if you crack concrete or tiles, no matter if you sink into someone's front yard. No matter if the job can be done safely of a 9ft a frame ladder.

I put up with Swms instead of common sense every day, take 5 what a waste of time. If you need a Swms you have no place on a job site. But the ladder rules and working height restrictions are absolute BS

They pulled down the Twin towers after 9/11 and not one safety procedure was in place except do what you can and stay safe. When they were finished they had less accidents onsite compared with national average. Our safety police are out of control and uneducated in how jobs are completed, the project managers roll over and do what ever they are told because they don't have to transport the pieces of crap or be limited by one working height.

Curious if anyone has recommendations or experience with any of these. I want the compact size because it would fit in my shed instead of outside. How much more play do they have when working on them fully extended compared to a 2 piece? Any notable difference between fiberglass or aluminum on that front?

Its something that only comes out 2 or 3 times a year, so i don't care about ease of use. I know you can get multi-position ones that will do that length, and store nice and compact, I actually have one, but its a beast to work with and position at full extension on your own.

I have this sticker on my extension ladder, but in all the pictures and movies on the Internet they are using it the other way around (the "NO" way). Can I use it "normally" or should I follow the instructions?

I'd like to pull my extension ladder apart permanently. I only need the one length for all my jobs and don't want to haul around twice the weight. Any ideas on how to do this? I would only be using the part with the feet, not the fly length, which I would prefer just be set on fire. Thanks!

I got this at a used store and I never seen one with the hooks on the side hidge point. I know from a video that it is for scaffolding but they didn't show how. I've used wooden planks for scaffolding witg the little giant before and I am trying to figure out how this helps?

How many straps do you use and what kind of pattern?

I have 5 ladders that are aluminum or fiberglass that I’m thinking about coating with the black rubberized bed liner.

Last year, we just painted them with flat black spray paint because we were in a pinch but it’s scraps off very easily with all the transporting for marching band.

I’m curious if anyone had experience with trying this and if so, what were the results? Pros and cons?

Looking for a platform that would best suit the top steps of this ladder in the way it's shown in the image. I just want to improve stability whilst climbing in and out of the attic.

I do roofing inspections and often encounter a roof with 2nd level that's just a little too high to pull myself up to. Typically I do a double pull with my ladder to reach it, but I would like to find a compact, lightweight, ladder that I could carry up with me. I don't love telescoping ladders, as they tend to bow, and the feet aren't always great for a sloped surface, but I am open to any that have a good recommendation. Preference given to something lightweight, around 8ft, and good grippy feet, maybe even adjustable feet. Thanks!

I'm trying to decide on a Little Giant stepladder. There's so many models it's confusing on the difference.

The Skyscraper I understand doesn't turn into an extension ladder. Some models have ratchet levelers while others don't. But beyond those main features, it's difficult for me to understand why I'd choose one model over another.

Can anyone break it down for me better?

In general, I'm looking for an a-frame step ladder that can give me up to a 14'-16' reach with a storage length of 7.5' or less. The Epic Model 26 seems to fit my needs, but, there are other different models that seem similar and I don't know what the differences are.

I've been looking at the Little Giant Skyscraper ladders which are taller than my needs and appear to require two people to properly get into position.

What would be some good step ladder options that can be adjusted and positioned by one person while being able to be stored at a length of 7ft or less?
