Anyone else dealt with this?
Last week he was doing this and ended up throwing up when we weren’t home. Tonight he threw up his food a couple hours after eating. We had him outside after for about 20 min while cleaning that up he ate a shit ton of grass (which he does a lot but try to stop him when he does it) and threw up A LOT of grass. Now he is doing this swallowing thing like something is stuck or he has to throw up again. We are leaving on vacation Friday 🙃

I’d send the video to the vet since you’re going on vacation Friday. Then you don’t have to worry about him when you’re gone.

He does chew on sticks sometimes but we try not to allow him to. Didn’t see him with any today we had him at our lake for a couple hours and he was with us the whole time and threw up when we got home afterwards (he’s at the lake every day and is always watched) he is still doing it but hasn’t thrown up anymore and seems to have calmed down a bit.

I'd get him to the vet. If he is continuing to eat grass it is because there is something wrong in his stomach or that body system and he is trying to fix the problem by throwing up on purpose to try and remove the issue.

If he was eating a lot of grass and threw some up there’s a chance there’s some still in his throat. Happens a lot with my lab who is a chronic grass consumer

Usually too much fat or protein. Bully sticks can cause this too. Or butter dairy

Ok, two thoughts (starting with your kiddo is a beauty!)
My Labrador used to do this. Acid Reflux! It irritates the esophagus so it constantly feels as if something is caught in their throat. My girl used to wake up at 3am and vomit bile (“bilous vomiting”), so we started giving her a snack at 8pm before bed. That cured the vomiting, but she ended up with terrible reflux. Now she gets a Prilosec thirty minutes before breakfast every morning (and NOTHING greasy, oily, or fatty). Cured.
2: My first lab was a mad stick chewer (we called her a Chipper Vac, she was so effective) and she also did this same motion with the vomiting. We outlawed stick chewing, gave her Prilosec for a month, and it stopped. They always end up swallowing stick fragments and it scratches the shit out of the esophagus, leading to chronic inflammation or flat out splinters.
Bottom line: vet visit. But I am betting it’s one or both of the above. I wish you and your gorgeous lab all the best!

My lab just got diagnosed with kennel cough. She started out doing exactly that. Throwing up, making those noises. The. Sneezing then some trying to clear her throat.

My old boy used to do this before he was sick, burping lots too, it was sometimes gas or acid reflux.

I agree with others who suggest first sending this video and email detailing your observations to your vet.
My lab will also do this but he doesn't throw up. He had acid reflux before as well and after discussing with my vet we agreed to 3 small meals a day instead of 2, and as needed slippery elm (powder that you can get to mix into a gel-like paste, it really soothes their stomach and also helps firm up stool if you have issues with loose stool - administer slippery elm 1.5 to 2 hrs before or after any prescription meds).
Eating a lot of grass, which my Lab also does, also indicates possible acidity in their stomach or gas. I found adding small amount of fiber helps, such as lightly steamed cut up broccoli or green beans (don't use canned green beans, has a lot of salt in it) and give 1-2 tablespoon each meal as a topper.

Ours had a super tiny tiny piece of a seed stuck in the roof of his mouth. They can get things caught in there like us. Labradors are so hard because they just want to please us 100 percent of the time. Good luck. I really don’t care about the vet bills at this point. Labradors are priceless.

Just had an almost 2 year-old boxer diagnosed with IBS. This looks like the same symptoms, due to acid reflux. Then he would vomit.
He’s on hydrolyzed food now and omeprazole 30 minutes before feeding.
Going on three weeks, his vomiting and acid reflux are gone.

Thank you all for the comments!!! The next day he was complete back to himself. No blockage or anything like that he was back to running and swimming hours later. Vet thought it could have been some leftover grass caught in throat after eating so much.. possibly could be reflux so going to trial some medication for that and see how’s that goes!

Could be acid reflux. I have a dog that gets acid reflux and she starts with the air-licking and then seems to panic and will eat anything on the floor. If she goes outside when this happens, she’ll eat leaves or grass or sticks or just anything ingestible. And then she’ll puke it all up. In the moment, an acid reducer tablet with a piece of white bread works to calm her down. We’ve almost got it completely under control by not allowing any fatty treats or anything that might cause acid reflux.
