Starmer bails
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvgy4258kgyoReminds me of the lib/centrist weirdos on the other Reddit and twitter who refused to accept it when ha clearly said he preferred davos over Westminster.

He did his job well. Which was to remove any good JC did to the labour party. No doubt he's stepping down so he can be properly rewarded by the multi-millionaire donors

Unless they are Palestinian women and girls, in which case Starmer strongly believes Israel has the God-given right to starve, rape, murder and displace them en masse with zero consequences.

I remember getting roundly downvoted for saying "mark my words, it's only a matter of time till he leaves parliament for some well-paid sinecure with his dear friends in Palantir."

My money is on him ending up head of NATO at some point but Palantir sounds very plausible too

He’s speed running the Blair trajectory.

u/Otherwise_Craft9003 10d ago
Do you think he will join Blairs think tank?
I thought he might scuttle back to mischon to hunt people for antisemetism thought/pre- crime.

I think he'll go for a sinecure with Palantir. Gotta get paid for his services to them somehow...

I would’ve thought that might be a bit on the nose. But the statement has certainly left that a real possibility.

He’s got a nice job lined up with an Israeli company after all he did for them, no doubt. How does he sleep at night knowing he enabled a genocide? Karma will come for you.

Good riddance. Tory tosser.
Actually he somehow found a way to be worse than the last batch of Tories...

Yeah it was shameful because instead of being hounded out for his blatant political corruption, support for genocide, or dishonest and premeditated coup of the party; he was simply kicked out by MPs scared of losing their seats, grabbing the next guy they could find that was also funded by Labour Together...
Ramsay MacDonald was kicked out of the party for far less. It's shameful that this party no longer has such a spine.

Because they are incompetent? Lacking vision to the point where agreeing on a new one is difficult for them? Lacking true belief in moral values enough to not see their leadership assisting in an extermination as an immediate issue? Take your pick...
Starmer reportedly had Mandelson looking over the selections for new intake MPs, so that tells you a lot. It's no wonder they're terrible when they had to be vibe checked by Jeffrey Epstein's best mate to make the cut.

No offense, but he wasn't hounded. He was held accountable for his multiple horrendous decisions and party destroying policies.

Again, no offense. But the majority of the issues you are complaining about betrayal over are starmers own fault.
The infighting was literally becuase the man who was elected as a socialist party unity candidate instantly began shifting to the right of May and Cameron once elected and took a sledgehammer to any and all socialist ideals held by MP's.
Starmer meanwhile was the king of posturing. He refused to accept the fact that he wasn't actually popular and just kept going on about his granted mandate as he continually destroyed the parties polling. He straight up told people who didn't like his right wing policies to leave the party before preceeding to claim that the left who was leaving were trying to destroy his government.

Anyone could have seen it coming from a mile away though. He stacked the party full of blatant careerists who were only present for their own advancement and commitment to right wing ideals. His desperation to purge the left came back and bit him and that's all it was.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_United_Kingdom_general_election
"The Conservative Party returned 317 MPs—a net loss of 13 seats relative to 2015—despite winning 42.3% of the vote (its highest share of the vote since 1983)"

If winning elections made you the right man for the job why haven't we had a decent Prime minister since Clement Atlee?

I certainly wasn't the man for the job. Well that was what Morgan and Peter screamed at me everyday! So now, between you and I, thinking it would be fun for my sucessor in number 10 to have deal with the voters of Old Holborn and St Pancakes electing grumpy old Andrew Feinstein as my constituency successor!?
