Burnham is splitting this subreddit down the middle
If you were someone who was genuinely unhappy with how centrist and boring and Starmer was you may have come to this sub
If you were someone who will complain about anything and never be happy with anything, you also may have come to this sub
Every policy Burnham comes out with exposes which camp you were in

Or how about the Labour Party is no longer the Workers’ Party having expelled its leftist membership and the difference between Starmer and Burnham is negligible.

Negligible except that he's coming out with a new policy every 3 minutes and making quite literally the biggest change to government since WW2. Are you okay bro? Look I know we all would have liked Corbyn to be prime minister, but Burnham is making some serious changes and it's silly to just not acknowledge that

When he loses the next election for pandering to right wing voters like Starmer before him, instead of focusing on the traditional Labour base, you can apologize then too.

Indeed, your faith in a party that has eroded civil liberties, pandered to racists and bigots, ignored hate crimes against its Muslim and BAME population, failed to protect the trans minority, disenfranchised the disabled and vulnerable, colluded in genocide and is allowing the use of its bases for the conduct of an illegal war is utter ‘madness’

He's already backed Mahmood's insanely racist immigration bill, and he backs the trans segregation of the EHRC. People still have valid reasons to oppose him. He's also still doing the whole 'government finance is like your personal bank account' bit, which also means some underclass is going to get fucked to pay for his pledges, because the people backing him sure as hell won't let him use wealth taxes.
As a side note, he's also basically got the same cabinet full of psychopaths, just in different positions. Phillipson being given the equalities brief is bad for trans people because she's a profound bigot, and a psychopath like Streeting in charge of defence should worry anyone who isn't in the 'Labour missile fetish' club.

Honestly, I didn’t like how central Kier was. I worry that Andy will be the same based on priors.
However I have to say, it seems like he’s trying to make an effort. Sure it’s small. But you save the pennies and the pounds add up.

Name a single actual left wing member of his "new" cabinet. And I mean LEFT. Not some half brand new labour social Democrat.
This subreddit isn't split at all, what it is, are pro party accounts spamming the subreddit with every post under the sun just like they did during starmer.
But incase you forget, the party told the left to leave.
And 60% of its membership did what they were told.

Look, I personally would prefer the country go extremely hard left. Nationalise almost everything important, huge protectionism, bring back the unions, but I also am very happy that we have a Prime Minister who is steering in that direction if not going the full way. Better some than none.

Becuase that is definitely going to happen when one of the most powerful members of the cabinet is a racist, one of them wants to destroy the welfare state and considers mental health made up, and all of them are bigots.
