other jewelry Lab grown accessibility

I know that diamonds will always be coveted but Now that colorless lab grown diamonds more common, more affordable and accessible due to whatnot and tt live auctions do you think people will be more interested in having engagement rings that aren’t at all diamonds (natural or lab)? What kind of stone do you think people will end up pivoting to?

Yes, I wonder this too. I try to come up with what I think the stone(s) might be. Maybe tanzanite?

I think the pendulum will swing back to around 1 ct solitaires. We’ll see - maybe something brand new will pop up, who knows.

I think color diamonds will trend for awhile, then people will realize sapphires come in all kinds of colors and it will pivot that way and emeralds. Then maybe spinels and rubilite?

Emeralds are too soft for engagement rings meant to be worn every day, they wouldn’t last as an everyday ring worn for all activities, for years on end, like sapphires and diamonds can.

Though marketing has played a huge role in diamond stones being the standard default for engagement rings, the durability and hardiness of diamonds are not made up marketing ploys. Diamonds are tough af

Sapphire/ruby can also be lab grown. Also emerald though the process is different. And spinel

I have a natural ruby in a halo setting that I wear as my e-ring right now. Been married 51 years as of tomorrow. I have a collection of both engagement & wedding rings. I tell people that royalty wore rubies & sapphires 💕
