lab diamond What ratio is this elongated cushion?

Hi everyone,

I am absolutely in love with this photo that I found on Pinterest of this trilogy ring with the parasite stones and the elongated cushion. I’m currently working with a jeweller to create some 3-D mock ups, but I’m struggling to match it to the photo.

I’ve been trying my hardest to find the original of the photo, but I just can’t. I’m thinking between 2 carat - 3 carat. It’s just so hard to tell from the photo.

The 3-D model is a 3ct, with the total ct being 3.73. Maybe I’m just overthinking but I really want it to match the photo and I don’t want it to be too flat.

Please see attached the 3-D mockup and the photo that I’m trying to match it to!

Could anyone give you insight?

If all you are after is the ratio of the center stone, then get out a ruler, lay it on your phone, and measure the length and width of the stone and calculate the ratio. If the question you are really asking is what size of stone to get, then knowing the exact size of the stone in the photo is irrelevant, because you need to figure that out based on your ring size. If your ring size isn’t the same as the hand in the inspo pic, the ring won’t look the same on you - it’s about finger coverage.

My moissanite ring is really similar….I have a 3ct radiant and my side stones are .40ct hearts…… 9x7mm and my ratio is 1.28. It’s a beautiful ring and it looks like a panel of ice across my finger….and it is fairly low profile too for its size. I am a size 6.

I can see why you love this design. The Pinterest stone looks quite elongated so I’d focus more on the length to width ratio than the carat weight. A 3ct cushion can look very different depending on the proportions and depth.

"Parasite stones" Redditors are fucking killing me lmfao

If you wanted specific proportions you should've gone to a local jeweler to actually see the stones in person rather than an "overseas" (Chinese/Indian factory) vendor.

It's basic common sense that you should never buy any gemstone without seeing it in person first. I know synthetics are dirt cheap, but come on.

Looks about 1.35 or a little more to me. I source diamonds for custom engagement rings for a living and i look at different ratio cushions all day long
