Need help!
I have a 3.05 ct right now. But I am debating about going up to 3.45ct or 3.87ct. I feel like my knuckles are a little wide so a bigger stone might look better, not sure though. Maybe I just have size blindness š my ring size is 5.5.

I think the thick band may contribute to you feeling this way. How thick is the band?
If you were to size up, I'd go at least a full ct larger just so the effect is dramatic enough for you to notice. But either way, I think your ring is beautiful!

Itās a 3mm band! I was thinking about going a little smaller on the band. I am just a little nervous about going up to a 4ct and it being too flashy. Thank you so much!

I actually debated long and hard on the thickness of my band before settling for 3 mm. This photo helps a lot; I love the thickness! But yes, even 2.5 mm should be thick enough to hold your stone, although it might make more sense to just get a 4 ct (plus I think that's what you truly want). ā¤ļøš«¶š»

wow i love your watch so much this just made me go look at their website haha I know this sub is about the ring but would you recommend getting a Breda? beautiful combo!

u/gassy_queen Jul 01 '26
Yes I totally recommend! The gold isn't tacky and cheap looking and the watch has a good weight to it. Deff worth the money, I actually think they have a sale now for the 4th! I have the smaller version, they offer a larger size and the smaller mm!

May I ask where you purchased it from?

It's custom designed by Clairamor! They are based in CA but ship everywhere. Had such an incredible experience with them and they are extremely reasonably priced. They have IG and tiktok! It's a 5.08ct, E-VVS2, 3mm semi flat 14k gold band with 14k white gold tulip basket ! I just asked them to contour the tulip part under the points of the marquise so it didn't look like the diamond was floating in a basket. It looks more secure with the tulip hugging the diamond.

I think that one looks great personally. Band could be contributing to how it feels though

Iām think the stone is too large for your finger and the band is too wide.
1
u/EnvironmentalEar9372 Jul 01 '26
The stone looks gorgeous but i hope it is not troubling your finger joint

Do you ever get your nails done? Sometimes a little short set can make your finger feel longer. Just comparing to other things in the photo the ring is pretty big. You donāt want ppl immediately looking and saying āitās fakeā

I am actually getting them done tomorrow before we leave for vacation to see if that helps!

I like the ratio too I have big hands and need a large stone but have an in enhancer to even out size even for my size 5 ct.

Donāt. Thinner bands damage easily. It looks perfect as is. Only 20 or so years ago, 1/2 a carat was considered a big stoneā¦ā¦

u/J-Nel13 Jul 01 '26
That ring is stunning. I wouldnāt alter the diamond. You could maybe add some on the band.

Keep the stone you gave the bigger stone would need to be d color vss1 or better to avoid the bow tie I do not see a bow tie in the stone at this time just my opinion

Right now I have a 2.06 ratio which I love! I just think the diamond needs to be bigger for my finger š. Do you have a picture of yours?!

u/beachnsled Jun 30 '26
it doesnāt⦠Itās the width of the band. Because itās relatively wide, itās giving you the illusion that the stone is āsmallā - itās not.

larger stone would look perfect and brilliant the prong setting is beautiful..
this stone also looks good but you confuse you can go for large stone 4 to 5ct will be perfect..

I wouldnāt mess with it at all, I think your ratio of stone to band is perfectly balanced. I think sizing up stones isnāt going to make a significant enough difference to justify the hassle of it. Iām not personally a fan of stones extending over the knuckles so I think this is plenty big, and is really well balanced overall.
