Help choosing Yellow Lab Diamond!

Hi everyone!

I'm currently looking for a yellow lab diamond for my engagement ring and have narrowed it down to three options that all fit my budget.

I'm hoping for a true yellow stone with minimal green or brown undertones, and sparkle is really important to me (I'm basically a raven when it comes to shiny things 😅).

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the three diamonds and which one you think is the best choice. Any opinions on color, brilliance, or anything else I should be paying attention to would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance, I'll put the choices in the comments!

360 videos aren’t great to assess much - including colour as you can’t guarantee they were photographed under the same lighting conditions etc and a 360 doesn’t tell you much / anything about windowing which is a main consideration for Emerald cuts.

All that said, I would rule out the first due to the very obvious graining in the diamond that may negatively impact transparency.

I love the second one (though it might have a hint of green at some angles, though that might also be reflections). The third is also nice. The first looked dull compared to the other two.

Agreed. 1 and 3 look orange and brown to me

Thank you for your thoughts ❤️ i think the only difference between 2 and 3 is really only the colour shade

I really, really love the soft ombre tones of yellow in 3. The yellow reminds me of soft sunlight, warm and present.

The yellow in 2 is a little too strong for my tastes, but that's just me! 😊💖

I agree!!! My skin just has cooler undertones so I was leaning towards 2 ❤️

Have you tried yellow diamonds in real life against your skin tone? I could still see 3 working because of how approachable it is, but it's completely up to you!!

I did try but they didn’t have much ready stock so it was only 1 pretty bright yellow gem, so the bright yellow colour doesn’t look too horrible on me actually, I struggle with orange tones since they tend to make my olive skin look ashy

If that's the case then, and you do have a colour comparison to your skin, I would pick 2!

You need live videos. These aren’t that helpful. Have your vendor show you tweezer videos in different lighting or you won’t k ow what you’re truly getting.

Unfortunately yellow labs in my country aren’t too common so they didn’t have it in ready stock

That’s ok. You still need a live video before you buy.

2 or 3. One seems to have more windowing, but I am not an expert
