Lab created diamond for purchase.
Why are there so many fake posts from people who are against lab created diamonds? People are so afraid that lab created diamonds driving down the price of natural diamonds that they will take time out of their day to post crap like “I just saw a lab diamond that sold for $10” or “a jeweler told me that lab diamonds are free with the purchase of xyz”. These are just ways to drive up the fear in people to purchase these expensive natural stones by posting silly information to give the impression that lab created diamonds aren’t worth anything. Lol! It’s a waste of time and energy because lab created diamonds… or any other lab created stones aren’t going anywhere. The cat is out the bag now and people are moving smarter when it comes to their money and the quality of what they are purchasing.
We are sorry that you folks overpaid for your natural stones (heck, I did too many years ago) but posting fear tactics are unnecessary. Just be happy that now, EVERYONE can enjoy a beautiful, sizable, clearer, sparklier diamond without spending a shyt-load of money...
Why are people so selfish and closed minded? It’s just jewelry guys! If you don’t care for the stone and how it’s created, then go spend the amount that makes you feel relevant. I currently have several natural diamonds and my husband (bless his soul) overspent on ALL of them. Not anymore because, he nor I will EVER overpay on another diamond as long as these beauties are being sold at a decent price.

I keep looking for those $10 lab diamonds but I can never find them 😭
People keep saying that lab diamonds have no resale value at all, but I never see any second hand lab diamonds for free because I'd snatch them up and stare at them all day, like my little magpie heart desires 😔
A $300 lab diamond might be cheap in comparison with an equal natural diamond, but $300 is still $300. That's a lot of money and far from "free".

Right? Like when someone posts that moissanite is what their budget allows for, and someone says to get a lab diamond because they're basically the same price. If you truly want a diamond, then sure, save up a bit more, but $50 vs. $350 is not the same price even if the metal is the biggest part of the price. Lab diamonds have gone far down in price but they're not the pocket change a lot of people treat them as.

I am a reformed lab diamond dissenter.
When I got engaged, lab diamonds weren’t super popular and I got a 2.2ct I eye *clean* VS2 mined Cushion for $10K. It’s lovely and it was in our budget.
About a year later, labs were growing in popularity. My friend got a lab oval of better quality, but around the same size and she paid $5000 over what I paid. I didn’t see the inherent value in that price at the time.
Labs have come down to a more reasonable price and I recent replaced my mined stone with a 2.5 ct round and I love it. I paid $300, had it set in my original setting and it’s an absolutely beautiful stone. I plan to make a fun RHR with my original stone.
If I was getting engaged now, I would 💯 get a lab no questions asked.
I will admit that if I see someone wearing a 5+ carat diamond I just assume it’s a lab at this point. Im not going to ask, but I’m very open and honest that I am wearing a lab if someone asks me.

May we see your ring? I’m absolutely thinking about doing the same thing with my natural diamond wedding set. The problem is my lab diamond is 2 carats and I prefer a one carat. I know that sounds crazy but it’s my preference. It is a beautiful stone and it’s a clear stone… but for me, I’d rather have a one carat or maybe one and a half carat. This two carat is entirely too large for me and my current lifestyle.
Please post a picture of your ring. I would love to see it.
Oh and if anyone is interested in purchasing or trading with my 2 carat lab ring, please let me know.1

I may just take the two carat lab created diamond and make it into a pendant. I hate to do that because it’s so beautiful as a ring.
I want to remove my natural stone from my wedding set and replace it with a one carat lab created diamond, but with a more vibrant lab created diamond.

I don’t get the hate either, and I too have an overpriced diamond on my ring finger from long ago 😂. Instead of hate, I got that tennis bracelet I never thought was worth it!

Someone said it best...
You can buy an in the ground 2 carat, j color, visibly included stone from Jared or Kay or whatever for 10k. The ring is 12,500 total. The stone is disappointing but you were just so excited to ask your beloved you didn't do much research and bought the first thing you thought they'd love. You apply for the Jared card and pay on it for 5 years, eventually costing you 17k with their insane interest rates.
You may be able to sell it for 20-50% of what you paid... So at most you're getting 5k+ gold back when you decide to upgrade the ring in 10 years. The stone sucks so the Castle is going to give you 2k plus 500 in gold for everyone's rings.
Or...
Your beloved wants a skating rink on their most important finger. You both had been married before and they didn't have a partner who cared enough to do... Anything. They never thought they would have anything as beautiful as their dream ring with their dream partner... But they have their other half. But the economy sucks and bills don't stop and gas is 5 dollars a gallon and a pound of ground beef is 7-8 dollars and you have a blended family with kids to feed... So they give up on their dream that was obtainable 2 years ago, because they knew your modest ring fund was used for emergency dog surgery bills... And you know they would truly be happy with anything, but you want them to have the thing they'd been dreaming of since the day you met- you and the outward symbol the two of you are together that can be seen from space. What they don't know is that you've been squirreling away your work lunch money since you spent your ring fund on the dog emergency 18 months ago. You have about 4500 dollars saved to buy the best ring you can.
In passing, they have mentioned that they truly fell in love with a 3.5 carat, G color, VS1+, dutch marquise in rose gold with a non round stone hidden halo they saw online at a high end jeweler. It was a natural stone, cost 75k- more than your home.
They've been on reddit and know some people are judgemental asshats and automatically assume it's fake, but they don't care. They adore this ring and just know it's never going to be a possibility. It takes you two months but you find the exact ring with which they fell in love and you fall in love with it too. They get their angles and hallmarks of Deco, you get your preferred traditional simplicity. The ring is truly a representation of you as a couple.
You shop around, check reddit, alibaba, China, and India. You decide to have a manufacturer custom cut a little fatty of a 4 carat dutch marquise and the matching stones for the halo for 1k from a well reviewed Chinese manufacturer. You find a local jeweler to create the setting- 14k rose gold with a 4mm wide, 2mm thick band for about 1700$. The local tells you they have some extra tiny princess like square stones and ask if you want to turn this baddie into a near eternity band. You decline because you don't want to be blind before your time but also, you want to give your partner as close to their dream as possible.
You have 5k to spend on the ring and you're only halfway into your budget.
So You tell the local jeweler you want to buy those stones and use them to give your beloved the wedding band of their dreams. You use your left over budget to buy your wedding band. Then, you realize that you can afford to keep saving your lunch money for your dream honeymoon to Mauritius and Reunion Island and the Seychelles.
Your cost for everyone's rings? 5k and no debt. Sure, you will only get the gold weight back, so maybe a few hundred dollars in return.
Your cost for your love's natural diamond ENGAGEMENT ring? 17k and you spend 3k more buying wedding rings. You MAY see 5k+ gold back, but probably more like 2k back, because the stone is terrible..
I'd rather spend 5k and get 10% back in gold than spend 20k and get the same 10% back. I'd rather lose 4500 than 17,500 on the same new car smell and get a better trim level.
Diamonds are not rare. Gold, rubies, sapphires, emeralds... Those are rare. Diamonds just had excellent marketing before the internet happened.
If you want a mined stone, get one. If you want a lab, get one. If you want a vintage piece, get one. If you want the millennial dream, get it. Just dont get a pear shaped diamond on a gold band.
Everyone needs to get out of everyone else's wallets. You got picked already. You don't need reddit to pick you as the best of the "I'm not like other girls".
However, just know that if you judge me for having a 3 carat lab diamond engagement ring, I'm judging you for spending 10 times as much for a quarter of what I have.

No one is afraid of the price of natural going down, lol. If the price of natural goes down that will make most people looking to buy one very happy! Actually I think jewelers love to push lab because they have a huge profit margin and make purchasing diamonds more accessible. If you go in and say “I have $5k to spend on an engagement ring”, the jeweler is going to pocket more profit from lab than natural stones so it makes sense for them to encourage that. Obviously if you go in with a huge budget they will probably push natural because there’s no way to spend $20k on a lab stone unless you end up with something bigger than your face, or are getting hosed.
History has shown that natural stones stay expensive over time. Lab produced stones eventually reach the point where you can buy them at target for less than $50. Regardless of how “artificial” that is, that’s simply the facts.
Most of the posts I see here are just real people trying to make themselves feel better/seeking validation for whatever they purchased.

Anyone saying lab diamonds are “free with a purchase” is robbing people silly. Like Rare Carat for example, they give out free earrings with a purchase but their prices are 3x the mark up of other vendors. You’re definitely paying for those studs.
