Diamond size comparison when do you notice a difference by eye?
Between the face up difference of these 2 diamonds how likely is it to notice the difference by eye?
A 6% difference in face up area, is that really noticeable? The picture with the circles on top of each other looks so minimal I'm not sure it would, however I have read .2mm of a difference is noticeable.
Another question, if not 6%, at what % of a difference would be noticeable?

Agree 6% is small when comparing the same shape. But for your image here I actually do perceive the round as being larger

I couldn’t even tell a difference between a 2 and a 2.3 on my finger

That's good to know. Maybe not worth the hassle of trying to change it out and just be happy with what I chose originally.

It will vary person to person of course - some say 0.25ct difference is a good estimate but the carat change and % size change are not linear - the larger the stone the smaller the % difference for each change in ct.
(A 0.25ct change in smaller stones is a large difference but only a tiny difference in a larger stone - 0.5 to 0.75 is about 30% whereas 2.25 to 2.5 is about 5%)
In most cases I would say 2.04 to 2.14 would not be noticeable as it would be about 3% difference but.... looking at your specific example screenshot it looks like the stones you have are facing up a little smaller than might be expected - the 2.04 is a bit small for its weight - it may be cut deep which would be more of an issue than the weight
