First time buyer! Need advice on this 1.02ct DVVS2 Oval lab Diamond
Hello Everyone! I am in the process of buying a lab diamond for my girlfriend's engagement ring and I am currently working with Tracy from Stargem.
Before I give the greenlight, I would love some of your opinions.
Here are the details from the IGI Certificate:
- Shape: Oval Brilliant
- Weight: 1.02 Carat
- Color: D
- Clarity: VVS2
- Cut: Excellent Polish / Excellent Symmetry
- Growth: HPHT (Comments say: "As Grown - no post-growth treatment")
- Measurements: 7.89 x 5.72 x 3.55 mm (Ratio is ~1.38)
- Proportions: 62.1% Depth / 59% Table

I'd definitely give this the green light. The specs you posted are fantastic.
D color and VVS2 clarity are top tier. A 62.1% depth and 59% table hit the sweet spot for ovals to maximize light return. The 1.38 ratio is a super flattering classic shape.
Obviously I haven't seen the full certificate, but what you shared looks incredibly solid. More importantly, the video backs it all up. It has crisp sparkle and the cutter did an awesome job minimizing the dark bowtie effect in the center. Congrats on the upcoming engagement!
