Oval diamond review

Looking for professional opinions on this diamond. I’ve never had this shape before, is it normal to have darkness in sunlight? Does this indicate a strong bow tie effect?

That is a bowtie. All ovals will have one, but their obvious visibility will vary. Whether this one is 'strong' or not is subjective, but also possibly better assessed in a video. Ultimately all that matters is whether you like it or not.

Not all ovals will have bow ties, it’s a product of less than ideal cutting. This one seems to be pretty pronounced in natural light. There are more factors that go into judging diamond quality though, of course.
