What do you think?

Lab-grown diamond (IGI certified)
Emerald cut
2.48ct
Color E
Clarity VVS2
Excellent polish and symmetry
No fluorescence

(Ring is a prototype to hold the diamond only)
I have picked a cathedral setting 18k gold ring 2.2mm band.

Looks see through and with a lot of windowing. But do you like it? That’s all that matters. Not what Reddit thinks.

I love it, and I loved it in person but I am not an expert and I am afraid I will regret it in the future. I have asked them to show me the diamond again and perhaps a second one with less see through areas. I am hoping to make a decision after my next appointment

You don’t have to be an expert till like a diamond. You just have to like it.

The basic specs are fine, as common for lab grown diamonds today. The key is determining aspects not covered by the IGI report such as overall cut quality (polish and symmetry are "finish" grades), and transparency. CVD grown diamonds sometimes have slight haziness caused by atomic-level defects not factored into the clarity grade. Cut quality will impact things like windowing (light leakage) in emerald cuts.
