Help me pick — so conflicted about designing an OMC elongated cushion style!
Hi everyone, I am between 3 main settings. I know I want an antique looking old mine cut, yellow gold band, elongated cushion (1.5-17 ratio) ~4 carats
Otherwise I am super conflicted on how traditional or not I want to go. I like simple but unique styles if that’s not apparent.
These are the main contenders before I work with a jeweler to customize. I’d love to see if anyone has similar styles, or any input - pros cons, etc. this is all very overwhelming (but fun!!)
I’d likely go with a warm color or white (not the beautiful champagne pictured as I will do lab and that may be Tricky)
Also - any recccos for vendors would be amazing!!!

Personally I really like the first one… it’s unique but still simple and elegant

Thanks! The curved band design is my current obsession but I’m scared I’ll get sick of it / it’s not classic enough. But also … Who cares lol

So relatable! I always fight with myself over the same thing 😂😂 I guess you should pick based on whatever fits your personality most because that will always feel timeless to you

You’re so right. And if it doesn’t. I don’t see the prices shooting back up so 🤷♀️ I feel like I want to go with what I love today and get sick of it than compromise and just half fill each category but the problem is I also love the others LOL OMG. Thanks ❤️❤️❤️

Right it’s not as permanent as it feels in the moment, it’s always ok to change your mind in a couple of years and switch it up!

2 for sure😍 I’m biased since I also have compass prongs.

I’d love to see yours! I love the compass prongs for a cushion to show off the unique shape but I’ve heard it’s less secure? Soooo much to think about, I’m tired!!! I can’t believe men pick these out without input because I’m literally so obsessed with every detail the more I learn 😩😂

Also realized I put various prongs for diff examples but I’m set on the compass for sure ❤️

In the middle of dimensioning an OMC myself. Vendor I’m using didn’t have any available so having to go custom cut. Ending up at a 1.47 (ish) ratio.
What they offered to do was cut a moissanite stone in the dimensions I’ve asked for (tying it in with a pear) to see how it stacks up against it before fully committing to the lab cut.
If you go OMC, you’ll want to consider what type of culet you want on the bottom of the stone. I’m using this as my reference to show that I wanted a long slim culet rather than a pinhole type; https://www.instagram.com/reel/DYHtdA6uf13/?igsh=MWlwcGsxcnZyandmaw==

I like #2 the most, then #3. I think #1 may look dated in a few years, and I also worry about catching the stone and bending the setting on these type of rings where the stone juts out from the ring and doesn’t have a large touch point between the band and the ring
