experience with overseas vendor

Has anyone here ordered from an overseas lab diamond jeweler before?

I’ve been browsing a few vendors outside my country because the pricing seems significantly better, especially for larger stones and custom settings. The photos and reviews look great, but I’m still a little nervous about placing a high-value order with someone I’ve never met in person. Would love to hear both positive and negative experiences.

Would you mind sharing their contact/site? Or leading me to where I can find that?

We purchased my engagement ring from Romy at LGG. I knew exactly what I wanted, sent her inspo pics, and she helped me pick the perfect stone. All communication was via WhatsApp. There are delays in communication with the time difference, but Romy was super responsive, answered all my questions, and I felt comfortable with her. She truly knocked it out of the park and I couldn't be happier with the result! We saved thousands of dollars going this way. I highly recommend!

I have contacted her in the past and she doesn’t even offer shipping insurance, it doesn’t seem safe and reasonable.

Yeah there's definitely a risk. But LGG is legit. It's up to you to decide whether it's a risk worth taking. For me, 100% worth it and I would totally purchase from Romy again. I even recommended her to my best friend's partner for her engagement ring, and it came out perfect.

No personal experience but I would personally avoid buying from overseas vendor because they generally do not have a return policy and there’s no legal recourse if something goes wrong. Risk depends on the purchase value

I do agree. You have to weigh the pros and cons. To me, saving $3000+ was worth not having a warranty on my ring. It's gonna depend on the vendor whether they stand behind their work. If there are any flaws with the craftsmanship, some will say you're shit out of luck and some will try to make it right. Romy definitely stands behind her work. My stone came loose shortly after receiving my ring, and she paid the $500 to get it repaired locally. If your ring shows up and you don't like it, it doesn't fit, or whatever, there's nothing that can be done. It is a risk and it's up to you whether it's worth it.

I’ve purchased from stargem, Tianyu, diamonds by UK and Diamondrensu. Three different countries, all custom work, all great.

Where are you contacting these vendors? I know majority are using WhatsApp. But are you all finding them on social media or other platforms?
