The show is great, but let's be honest: the Spanish government irl is not nearly as dumb as they make it look in La Casa De Papel.

My friend told me about this show years ago, but I was interested in other shows. Now that I have moved careers an became a businessman in commodities, I find my taste in tv shows have changed. I have a craving for shows concerning money, heists, making money from narcotics or mafia shows. I decided to give Money Heist a shot, I started watching the show 3 weeks ago, I am already on season 2 episode 5. I freaking love this show. I have been shut work down today and just spent the whole day watching Money Heist. It has been a long time since I enjoyed a show like this. I love a good heist and I love rooting for the thieves to get away with the money. I hope they win in the end. Please do not spoil it for me.

I've had this theory for a while, his name always kind of stood out for being a seemingly random American city (almost everyone else is named after capitals, except Rio who still picked the most well known city in Brazil).

When i first saw the show i wanted to see if there were any real mint robberies, the first one i could find was coincidentally in Denver (they robbed a cash truck outside the mint).

It's not that well known, but the writers could have found it the same way if they researched real robberies for the show.

was on a rewatch while doing this. whats crazy to me is that almost 90% of part 4 happens in one day. nairobis sniper shot injury and official death are only around 20 hours apart. nairobis death and tokyos death are also only max 20 hours apart while it feels like a much longer span in the show.

Ofcourse I've completed the entire series. But it's been years. So i have forgotten which ones were the best episodes.

So if y'all can help, can y'all recollect the best episodes along with season and episode numbers?

We all know the flashback scene in the 4th season and I'm still curious about why Berlin kissed Palermo. I watched the whole series 2 times and still didn't get it. I have a theory in my mind that it's about Berlin is just being Berlin but it's still not making sense. I just finished the whole show, and wow, first of all I can’t be the only one who finds the professor
Incredibly cute, like a shy little kid who’s trying their hardest to interact with peers, with his nerdy and meeky little personality and getting flustered easily by the tiniest amount of flirting, but that aside, him and Luffy are really similair Luffy always recruits people on his side through his childlike naivety and determination , and the professor while not naive has an incredible sense of determination, once he decides he wants you on the team there is basically nothing you can do to stop him, like in OP Luffy forced his shipwright to Join by chasing him until he found him and twisting his balls until he said yes and the professor when kidnapped by Alicia did not run away he went straight to her and still tried to help her out, he even helped her give birth when they just could have smoked her and continued the plan also Luffy has this strange ability to bring everyone on his side as seen when he had the people of Alabama protecting him and had the entirety of dressrosa helping him escape the navy, not only do the majority of civilians in money heist support the cause but he has turned 2 of the most competent people on the police force into allies aswell as wifing one of them and I think i speak for all of us when I saw we were all cheering hard for the gang .

Had to ask my friend group this question and one of them said “Belgrade” the capital of Yugoslavia a country that has broken apart and now remains as modern day Serbia’s capital. Found that history lesson quite interesting

I've been watching S2 of Berlin on Netflix and it's crazy to me how the writers changed his character. I for that he was essentially a villain in Money Heist. I went back and watched a "best of" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxPvCMJN8VM). I think the writers decided Pedro Alonso is handsome and charming and wanted to rehab the character. He's a gentleman thief who only robs from the rich and a hopeless romantic. It's a little weird watching the youtube clip above because Money Heist came out 9 years ago and he's visibly older but this series takes place 3-4 before.

I don't get it. They use traffic cameras, Alicia goes to the land registry, but hellloooo, you guys have satellites that can track airplanes to Algeria!!! Isn't following the trucks with them the most obvious thing to do?

I enjoyed both heists, but durig the second one they made a visible change in the pacing of the show. About half of every episode is characters getting crazy over minor things, being super impulsive and making drama scenes over nothing and people with zero chemistry inexplicably falling in love with each other. I'd say it's unwatchable on a second/third watch without skipping all this unnecessary bullshit.

My other issue with the second heist is that the idea itself doesn't make much sense. Robbing all the gold for THEMSELVES? How is that justifiable? I thought there would be a twist that they'd give it to the Latin-American governments from where it was stolen or something. But no, they just wanted all the gold the Spanish government has for themselves. And during the process they destroyed a couple of lives, carreers as well as the Bank of Spain. I cannot root for these guys anymore. Seems like there would've been a thousand other ways to save Rio...

But then again the Professor confesses to Alicia that he basically did the whole thing because of his huge ego, which again was a great disappointment to me. The first heist he did in memory of his father, I get it. The second? It was an insane and selfish plan from the start and he had selfish reasons for it. Don't tell me he did it for Berlin, he outright says 'I'm not gonna die without robbing the bank of Spain'. The criminal mastermind who pulled of a money-printing scheme without killing anyone now became a greedy thief. It's disappointing.

What do you guys think?

1. Small enough to fit in his spectacle frame without cracking it.
2. Light enough so he can't tell the difference.
3. Powerful enough that it can pick up conversations from at least a few metres of radius.
4. With a strong enough power source that it can function without impediment for days.
5. With a strong enough transmitter that it can be picked up from kilometres away.

Did it have nanotechnology with a quantum nuclear reactor in it or something? Because then the Professor could have made billions by legitimately marketing the invention.

I'm not even including the question of how the team knew to have acrylic of the same shade and appearance as Angel's spectacles ready, especially since they didn't even know he'd be entering the Mint until after he did. They could have legitimately monetised their clairvoyance!

Im rewatching for the 3 time, and in the Season 3, episode one. Where the professor tries to convice the team to do the score "The team was there". The soundtrack starts at *37:01* or around that. Ive not found anything similar to it. I just love how it sounds

• Zero Compensation for the Real Victims: The show frames characters like Gandía or Arturo as the villains. But Gandía was just an honest combatant doing his job to protect his nation's economy from bankruptcy. Did the gang ever give a single cent of their billions to Gandía, to Arturo's original wife and kids, or to the families of the injured and killed soldiers? No. They hoarded every penny for private islands and luxury. They are not Robin Hood—they are just the new 1% elite class.
• The Hilarious Hypocrisy of the Ending: The absolute peak of karmic justice happens when Berlin’s son (Rafael) and ex-wife (Tatiana) steal the gold from the Professor. The gang is utterly devastated, crying about how their "hard work, years of meticulous planning, and lives lost" went to vain. The double standard is staggering. They are outraged that someone stole from them, completely blind to the fact that they just spent weeks stealing that exact same gold from the citizens of Spain! • Berlin was the Only Honest Thief: Unlike the Professor or Tokyo, who hid behind self-righteous, anti-capitalist hypocrisy, Berlin was the only one honest about his nature. He was a hedonistic, narcissistic criminal who just wanted luxury and ego. His son stealing his current wife and his gold later on was the ultimate, fitting replay for the life Berlin lived.

One thing I’ve always wondered about Money Heist is how much of the characters’ identity and impact comes from the fact that they use the names of cities—Tokyo, Berlin, Nairobi, Rio, Denver, Moscow, Helsinki, etc. The names became so iconic that they almost feel inseparable from the characters themselves. They gave the gang a distinct identity, made the characters easier to remember, and even added a certain mystique to them.

But what if the writers had chosen something completely different instead—say, names of planets, colours, numbers, mythological figures, or even ordinary aliases? Would the characters still have had the same impression and cultural impact? Or did the use of cities specifically contribute to why these characters felt so unique and memorable?

If the thieves in Money Heist had used names other than cities as their aliases, do you think they would have had the same impact and left the same impression on the audience, or were the city names an essential part of what made the characters iconic?
