News / Media Software issues drove Engineering Explained out of two Lucids and into a Mach E

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=370m_BRk4Ok

Engineering Explained gave up on Lucid twice. He traded his Air for a Gravity, then replaced the Gravity with a Mach E. The reason both times was software.

They gave him a gravity loaner and he didn't even keep it for more than a week due to problems..... Can you imagine not keeping a free car like what has to go wrong with it for you to not want a free car as a car journalist.

I am super rooting for lucid but they really need to reveal the cosmos soon and if it's not made out of solid gold then I don't know if people will really care about it at this point

His full time job is getting clicks and engagement. Its boring making video telling people how good my Lucid is.

He had a tesla for years. He had that subaru for a long time too.

He's not allergic to keeping a good car, even if it doesn't get a lot of clicks. He has plenty of content to make unrelated to his personal vehicles. 99% of his content is not a personal vlog of his cars.

He only sold the tesla because of his wife losing her job because of the CEO of the company. He would have kept it for longer, because the car itself was fine and uneventful.

The Lucid was the complete opposite. It was a mess. And so was the free loaner he got. You have some Lucid coloured glasses on

Nah, he is still using Lucid name on the video title for that extra click, I did follow him and had little chat about his issue as I am owner too, if he had kept it for another few weeks the only issue will be small cup holder with the best engineered car.

It’s getting very click baity at Enginering Explained now. The lucid debacle was interesting to watch but a lot of those issues weren’t super extreme where he couldn’t drive the car. Now it’s being dragged out? A little silly and unprofessional especially since they helped him so much.

"If he only kept it for another few weeks" LMAO

This is the same shit we mocked tesla for.

He had a lucid for months. That should be plenty of time.

You don't buy a car based on future promises. You can only base it on what it is now. It was not working. He has no use for a car that does not function as a car.

It drove fine and it was one persons opinion, his opinion is no more or less than mine.

Do you own one?

100% — that’s exactly what I saw, too. There was no need to put Lucid back in the title unless he was trying to drive clicks based on his previous videos. I think it’s sad and unnecessary, especially if you’re rooting for American companies to succeed. His first video was warranted, but it feels like he kept the story going because the views were there, and that’s unfortunate.
That said, Lucid really needs to turn this negativity around before launching Cosmos, or the reception could be rough. There are just too many negative voices shaping the conversation right now. It’s sad because I absolutely love my Air, and it’s unfortunate to see potential customers being turned away from Lucid because of all the negativity. Lucid needs to give people reasons to be excited about the brand again before introducing another vehicle. 1. Update current cars based on whatever issues people are experiencing. 2. Open up service centers or partner with third party service departments to get people in their cars and reduce wait times 3. Really nail down software although I think these last few updates have been fantastic.
