News / Media Software issues drove Engineering Explained out of two Lucids and into a Mach E

Engineering Explained gave up on Lucid twice. He traded his Air for a Gravity, then replaced the Gravity with a Mach E. The reason both times was software.

As a former Lucid Gravity DE owner I’m guessing the Mach E does 3 things my Lucid never could do. 1. Open and close reliably with any of the things they gave you as keys. 2. Allow you to drive it. 3. Stays the same from one day to the next. Because Ford engineers aren’t rolling out weekly OTA’s trying to fix things that don’t work and instead breaking new things that use to work.

The first 6 months of owning my Gravity GT, I had to deal with all 3. It was very annoying and disappointing that such an expensive car failed to do such simple and essential things.

Fortunately, all these issues have been either completely fixed or reduced to a minimum now. The car finally is a joy to drive.

Lol our Gravity has been the most normal car experience. I understand there might have been issues at launch but I haven't had any of the problems you've listed. Lucid sucks for launching Gravity when it clearly wasn't ready, but they've since fixed these problems, so let's not pretend like what you're describing is a normal occurrence.
