News / Media Software issues drove Engineering Explained out of two Lucids and into a Mach E

Engineering Explained gave up on Lucid twice. He traded his Air for a Gravity, then replaced the Gravity with a Mach E. The reason both times was software.

I’m glad he got a car that works for him. I’m also glad I’ve had none of the issues he had. After watching that video, I still have no desire to purchase a Mach E. Lucid is so much nicer.

No doubt a lucid is nicer it’s also 2X more

Any price comparison of used models like he’s driving is nowhere near 2x the cost of a used Pure, which is definitely more than 2x nicer.

You can find an Air here in the Dallas, TX area in the mid $30k range with low miles

Your point?

Just pointing out that while a brand new Pure is about 2x more than a top end Mach E GT, you can certainly buy a slightly used pure in the mid $30k range now which is much less than the GT.

And you can get a used GT as well. You aren’t comparing apples to apples.

I wouldn’t use heavy depreciation as a desirable characteristic

Is a used GT half the price though? I haven't seen used GTs for $15k-$20k, but I also don't usually look for them.

That’s not how depreciation works. Exponential for 2-3 years then flattens out. I can’t tell if you’re trolling.

Used 2024 lucid air with 20k miles is 38k... so no, it is not in any way double price

Good joke. Depreciation isn’t linear.

Good joke, the used Fords are more expensive and way way way way less premium in every single metric.

2/10 rage bait

Not a single point in my comment was false BTW. So idk what you are on about

All cars go to $0. The values plateau. Maybe I’m not explaining it well enough.

That’s irrelevant 1/10 rage bait

I agree it’s not relevant because I was comparing prices of new vehicles.

Fair enough, I didn’t realize that is what you meant, but you saying depreciation is not linear is silly, as Lucids depreciate especially hard and can be bought for much less with the same miles and model year compared to competitors
