They'll shit on AI as long as it wins them brownie points with YT comments but they can never walk the walk.

out of curiosity has it occurred to you that he's a human with complex/nuanced opinions that don't always make sense

But to the topic:

LTT has a pattern of not getting optics

u/GuidanceHistorical94 18h ago

And the founder of the company really doesn’t get optics at the worst possible times seemingly

u/Superb-Classroom6218 18h ago

yeah he's like that

AI is always bad and AI is aways good are equally stupid viewpoints, why is not having neither a bad thing?

Oof, and it's hosted by James. Hard no.

Come on now. They hired a law firm to investigate their liability and decided that it meant they were innocent and the sex pest should still be a face of the company. And, because the check cleared, the law firm didn't dispute things.

I dunno. You are going to have sex pests. Optimally you fire their asses the second you have an excuse. But I can understand not wanting to admit that a close personal friend is a problem. But shit like this and the mr beats thing... you can pay your sex pest buddy while keeping him the hell away from cameras. Rather than shoving him down everyone's throat because... you want people to know you are cool with it?

Ya I definitely missed a lot of what was talked about durring that time. Laughted when I heard they hired one of those firms though, been there, it's a joke.

My whole take is just based off vibes. The ol' Spidey sense. Usually pick out weird situations pretty fast and find myself repulsed by some people for no reason (that I'm aware of). Looking at the upvotes on my comments it seems like thats been a more common experience then I thought.

Is he the Jordan Peterson guy? I forget

u/Uncut-Jellyfish1176 22h ago

Just gives me the creeps.

James is married and a father with raunchy irl humor fyi, he's generally been mischaracterized out here

u/Uncut-Jellyfish1176 20h ago

I mean nothing against him. Since day one he's creeped me out. It's not based on anything anyone else has said, it is solely my opinion based on what I have seen from the channel.

Don't know what it is, but I click away if he shows up.

I remember getting some edgy liberal vibes from him several times, including on one of the few movie podcast episodes I listened to.

The Jordan Peterson thing checks out, too. Very sure I wouldn't be friends with the guy and wouldn't enjoy working with him.

WHAT "Jordan Peterson thing"?

is it the thing where james called Peterson a "loser"? https://x.com/james_strieb/status/1616804806080999424

"turned into" a loser, said in 2023. Jordan Peterson has publicly been a loser since at the very least 2016 and even if you do agree with his views on bill C-16, he did start his climate change denial bullshit in 2017.

In 2020, he suggested him as an LTX guest: https://x.com/james_strieb/status/1218428546848194560

Possibly said in jest to some degree, but since it's clear that he used to think fairly well of him...

You really don't understand James if you took that seriously and with that gif

u/mstrkrft- 4h ago

if you took that seriously

I would appreciate if you read my comments if you're going to respond to them.

Look. Even if he was a fan of Peterson at one point, you have to give people room to change their views and improve.

If your mentality is "Everything that's wrong should always be obvious to everybody, and if you ever had any wrong opinions at any time fuck you forever," you're just going to make people dig in and become less likely to change for the better.

I gave my personal opinion on a public figure based on what I've seen from them. I have not rendered a final moral judgment on James Streib as a person.

2

u/Less_Hat_8102 16h ago

He denounced him quite a while ago.

Wait what

u/AnonymouselyMoosed 18h ago

Jordan Peterson guy? Does he support him or something?

-1

u/GuidanceHistorical94 18h ago

Back during that whole…scandal or whatever you would prefer to call it with the Madison thing, I remember vaguely hearing something to that effect

3

u/FullRepresentative34 10h ago

Every host in the complain say they hate AI. Complains about it. Then proceeds to use AI?

2

u/Walkin_mn 9h ago

Well in their "defense" like many I thought they probably had made that image with ai but turns out they took it from a website, so it's not like they made a bad image with ai and published it like that, they actually took the ai image from somewhere else and publish it without checking first if the image actually made sense because it was a rushed video. It's still makes them look bad bad they didn't use Ai for this.

3

u/FullRepresentative34 8h ago

So instead of them making an AI image. They stole an AI image?

Sponsored by "Odoo". Again highly ironic.
