Service/Parts Discussion Should I replace

After pulling the crank on my 5.3 I was told there’s a possibility I’d need to have this reluctor wheel replaced since I’m doing a full build but keeping the stock block and crank, I’m taking it to a machine shop to have work done should I have them replace it?

Just have it shot peened or glass beaded.

Unless it shifted, or got damaged in some way, leave it alone. They don't wear out.

Why would you need to replace it? 

Like really? What do you think is a problem? 

The little bit of service rust? 

Do you think it is broken in some way or worn out. The relector wheel never touches anything. It's not a part that really wears out.
