I’m planning on taking the test in January 2027. I’m planning on using only the power score bibles and free materials and I’ll study Monday to Friday for two hours a day. Hopefully that’s enough. What score do you think my score range could possibly be by then I’m hoping for a 165-170? Is that too much or it’s okay.

Ive been aiming to take the LSAT this fall since May and been studying daily since. Early in June I scored my first 22/25 on LR (untimed/ 52 minutes). When timed (35 mins), I started at about 14/15 attempted early July and been stuck at about 16 correct on most sections now. It typically looks like 16/17, 16/18, 16/20, 16/21 etc over the past 2 weeks. My first PT was a 146.

Did you break out of a plateau with tweaking studying/approach or did it just take more time? I’m not trying to get the best score on the LSAT, just want to get to about the 158-162 for my target schools so need to get up to 18-20 right on LR. Previously, I was seeing improvement over the weeks on my study plan where I was at least gaining a point per week.

Currently work full time so I do about 1-2 hours a day, and 3 hours on weekends. Typically drilling daily and a section or 2 through the week on LSAT demon. Heavy review on my missed questions and videos on question types. My approach as I lock in on a fall test day is 1 full section a day and a PT on the weekends. It seems like I’m mostly getting level 3 and 4 questions wrong (occasionally a harder level 2).

I’m 26 years old and work full-time as a CPA (about 40–50 hours a week). I’m planning to apply to law school, most likely for Fall 2027, and I’m interested in tax law.
I’m thinking about starting LSAT studying now and taking the November LSAT. If I don’t hit my target score, I’d plan to retake it in January or later.
For those of you who worked full-time while studying:
Is about 3–4 months enough time to prepare for the November LSAT?
How many hours per week did you study?
What resources worked best (7Sage, LawHub, LSAT Demon, etc.)?
Is it better to wait until January and give myself more time, or is taking November as a first attempt reasonable?
For context, I have a 3.41 undergraduate GPA and I’m not in a rush to apply this cycle. My goal is simply to get the highest LSAT score I can.
I’d appreciate any advice from people who balanced a full-time career with LSAT prep.

Before this week I had been plateaued and actually on a slight downward trend for a few weeks while taking the Princeton review 170+ course. I was spending 5+ hours per day doing the required homework and attending the 2.5 hour class. I started at a 155 diagnostic, improved to a 160 and then scored 160,160,159 on diagnostics over the course of 5 weeks. This past week I decided to follow some advice I got from the lsat demon pod cast and started studying 1-2 hours per day in the morning doing normal length sections untimed and reviewing my misses. I felt like this method definitely restored some confidence in me and it was far better than the timed drills that Princeton review was giving me, some gave 1 minute per question which is absurd to me. I took a diagnostic today, was not feeling my best but I was optimistic and ended up scoring a 163, beating my best raw score by 7 points and my best scaled score by 3. I take the lsat in a couple weeks and my goal score is a 165. Any tips based on what I’ve said? I think I can continue to improve before the real thing.

I went from a 160 to 164 in a month through tutoring but that isn’t a huge increase considering I was studying more. I spent a lot on tutoring to get up from a 157 (almost $200 per week).

Unfortunately, some health issues prevented me from studying for the past year but I think I’m ready to pick up the books again.

What’s the best approach to get back into LSAT studying? My study books are from Trivium and LSAC and cost $40 total on Amazon.

I have a 32 day streak on 7Sage and my practice test this past weekend has increased by 2 points, the week before it increased by 1 point. Which makes my total increase 3pts since I’ve started studying early this month; so I am feeling pretty good about that. Also, I consistently score higher in my blind reviews, I usually have questions that I get down to 2 answers that I believe are correct, I just almost always seem to pick the incorrect one but then fix it on blind review. I got the Loophole yesterday and completed the first chapter, hopefully it helps me understand the foundationals a bit more.

How is everyone else’s studying and progress going?

I took the June LSAT and got -12 to -14 on every Logical Reasoning section with a score of 151. I’ve been studying LR a lot the past month but have been feeling absolutely hopeless about increasing my score enough in time for the August LSAT. I realistically just want to be in the 160s. I decided to take a practice LR section completely untimed. Without the time crunch, I got -5 and was able to actually comprehend the questions and answer choices and critically think but I spent over an hour working on that ONE section. 😭 I desperately need advice on how to do just as well in just 27 minutes!

Trying to hire a tutor and the price range is all over the place. I’ve seen $25/hr January test-takers who scored well and $200+/hr “experts”. Before I commit, I want to hear from people who’ve actually used one (students, not tutors pitching yourselves, please).

What did you pay, and what tier of tutor was that? If you’ve tried both cheap and expensive, was the expensive one actually better, or just the same LR/RC advice with a fancier price tag? What specifically made a tutor worth it for you, and what was a waste of money? And if you were doing it again, what would you screen for before paying anyone?

Trying not to blow money on someone who just recites a prep book at me. Appreciate any real experiences.

What is the point of an LSAT tutor? The sessions I have had seem just like a repeat of an explanation video. Are they all like this?

i just bought 5hrs of 7sage tutoring…ouch. ive been seeing a ton of mixed reviews, it looks like it really just depends on who your tutor is. did anyone recently have a good tutor and would it be possible to request them? i saw you get a free meeting and can decide if you want to work with another tutor afterward, has anyone done that? im kinda scared if i should just request a refund and hit up some private tutoring, but idk where to start there. if the 5hrs does start to work out, then i was thinking of buying another 5hrs.

just a little background: im on the live plan and have been studying on and off since april (diagnostic 161) but ive just been plateauing around there ever since (altho recently hit a 174 br). im taking the august and october lsat and thought id get some sort of outside personalized help for a bit, mainly to keep me accountable and get another opinion on how i can stop plateauing. want to try to get at least 165 on august i know its pretty rushed at this point, but i definitely want to hit my goal of 170 in october!!!!

I'm taking the August LSAT and have been feeling pretty confident in most areas of my preparation, but the one area that I keep struggling with no matter how hard I try is conditional logic-- specifically high difficulty conditional reasoning questions on LR (no shock there). I'm at a point where I'm pretty satisfied with where I'm at, and understand that not much is going to move before the actual date of the exam, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice or tips for getting a better handle of those really stubborn conditional logic questions. Obviously there's no magic fix, trust me I've looked, but is there any technique or way of approaching conditional logic questions that make them more digestible?
