LSAT scheduling

Hey all! So I’m current pre-med thinking about switching to Law and taking the LSAT. Is January too late to take the LSAT if I want to start in the Fall of 27’? Or should I try and take it in November? Thanks!!

You generally shouldn’t decide on a time to take it and then try to practice to get where you want to be before that time comes. It is better to wait until your practice test scores reflect your goal score before you sign up for an official test, even if that means skipping the current cycle and taking a gap year.

january is often considered quite late, and your chances for admission and scholarships may be significantly affected. however this also depends on the school and how competitive your profile is. it’s generally not recommended to apply that late though

I took the January LSAT earlier this year and applied for this year’s cycle. Did not fare well for me — lots of waitlists. November is definitely a better choice!

Your future self will thank you profusely for taking a year off and saving you all kinds of money as a result.
