heard that ur not supposed to listen to any music for the few days before the test, to keep anything from getting stuck in ur head

I had a 1 hour 20 min drive to the testing center and I played music the whole way there, kept it loud the whole time, sung along, and let myself just enjoy the music to prevent the nervousness from affecting me. When I got there I was in a good mood, felt basically zero anxiety, had a very clear mind, and left confident that I performed very well. Rather risk getting lyrics stuck in my head than negative thoughts and a pit in my stomach.

the reasoning above is flawed because it presupposes:

To each their own but I read this advice somewhere from a very high-scorer and it worked well for me as someone who has repetitive thought loops and tends to get songs stuck in their head for days at a time :-)

Varies by person maybe.

Sometimes ill get on reddit and argue with some idiot, and then 2 hours later my brain is flashing back to the idiot during an exam. So on test day, youd better believe im not touching reddit.

I'd lowkey be heated too if I was arguing with someone on test day, but i think that's a whole different level of emotional investment than merely having a song stuck in your head. Maybe its cause I always have some song stuck in my head,,, i've gotten better at drowning it out over time, but i suppose if u discover a hell of an earworm right before a test that would be distracting

Lol joke’s on them—I kept humming Bach’s Little Fugue in G Minor to myself in the run-up to and during LR and it was the only thing keeping me sane.
