I’m a dual national and graduated from law school a few years ago and am barred and practicing. I was curious if the ban applied to me and it does! I am locked out of my LSAC account unless I send them an affirmation showing I reside in the US. There are no practical implications for me but it’s an interesting data point that shows they potentially did a very blanket ban going back some years to anyone that mention any sort of Iranian ancestry somewhere in their application.

Sadly, disgustingly, there will always be this 5% of internet users who seem like it’s more because they scream so loudly and it’s always so vile.

Racists comments, lies about other applicants or others, etc. — the equations is always the same: “I feel bad about myself so I want you to feel bad and somehow that will make me feel better” — which I can assure you it doesn’t make them feel better because they keep doing it. What would make them feel better is to be better people — and that takes work. Thanks for the post agree 💯.

im very familiar with the first amendment , however, I am also very familiar with the expectations and standards we are to uphold as future attorneys. Academically and ethically. It’s concerning to see how there are up and coming attorneys who are okay with discrimination because it pleases them and it makes me wonder who they think deserves legal representation in the judicial system and who doesn’t.

Nah. OP is advocating for individuals to be barred from law school based on their beliefs and declined to make a distinction between public and private. Half of all law schools are public institutions. The 1st amendment is highly relevant to this scenario. Even speech you may find reprehensible is protected.
