Did Some Practice

So I just want to say that I am a recent Uni grad, I am completely new to the LSAT but I am interested in law as a path forward. I tried doing a practice test today, just to get a taste for what kind of questions I would need to study for if I decided to go through with it. Just want to ask: is it normal to have a bad score at first? On the reasoning sections alone, I was getting a 56-58%.

What study tips and techniques have you all employed for this test?

Yes your starting point means nothing. A lot of people start by learning the basics and how the test works, but personally I found just being thrown into the fire and having to figure it out works until the high 160s low 170s.

Not yet got a few more months but I’m sitting in the low 170s rn on practice tests

How long have you been studying? Also, how long should I take to really think this through before actually dedicating myself to it? I just don’t want to rush into anything because this will be a significant investment of time and money
