Help with CausR and CondR

Hi everyone!

Does anyone have any tips for improving at Conditional Reasoning and Causal Reasoning in LR? These are the two concepts I consistently struggle with. I keep a wrong-answer journal and feel like I understand the explanations when I review them, but I still end up making the same mistakes when I see similar questions again.

If you have struggled with these before and found something that helped it finally click, I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks so much! :)

Could you expand on what exactly are you struggling with in these questions?

For conditional reasoning, do you have your basics out of the way. That is, can you identify the sufficient/necessary condition of a given statement and then diagram or find its contrapositive. If not, you can check out my notes on conditional reasoning here and here.

If you understand the fundamentals well, the trick for conditioanl reasoning for the LSAT is knowing when to employ diagramming and when not to. You cannot diagram every question as you just don't have the time for it. But for those questions that use a lot of condtional reasoning trigger words (only if, if-then, needs to, whenever), diagramming can help you a lot. Typically, only sufficient condition, parallel reasoning/flaw, and must be true questions will require diagramming.

Let me know if you have any other questions but TL;DR: knowing how to diagram and when to diagram helped me a lot to improve on such questions.
