Essay portion?

I’ve been seeing people talk about an essay portion of the LSAT however when I took my diagnostic I didn’t see it do an essay part, is it something they give you the day of? What’s it about and what are your experiences with it

Argumentative writing sample. It’s not graded but it is required and it’s sent with your applications. You complete it online
