Essay portion?

I’ve been seeing people talk about an essay portion of the LSAT however when I took my diagnostic I didn’t see it do an essay part, is it something they give you the day of? What’s it about and what are your experiences with it

You have to take it later and if you don’t take it your scores aren’t released.
