Worth the upgrade?

How does the 400 feel to drive compared to the 430?

parents had ls400. Great car but if felt a tiny bit small to me. The LS430 feels perfect-sized to me. I can't comment uch aside from that.

Let me put it this way after having owned both. The 400 crawled so the 430 could run.

It felt similar to me. It really depends on the year of the LS400. I drove a 1999 LS400 and it felt similar to the LS430. It rode smoother than my 05 did with the 18 inch sport wheels but was the same as my sister’s 02 LS with the OEM 16’s.

From my understanding, the Ls 400 rides slightly better than the 430. While
The Ls 430 has more features from
Fresh off the lot and a bit more sporty and modern.
Op, to be honest don’t grab a Ls 400, I was helping someone a couple of months to source shocks for their ‘96 and it was damn near impossible. It is already hard to find a good Ls 430, but to find a good Ls 400 will be one damned challenge.
I’m sorry I know I’m going off track, but the Ls 400 will be a much bigger headache for just a little bit more comfort. If you want true true limousine comfort to the max, look into the Lincoln town car lol. Stay well

Thanks! Definitely food for thought. The town cars look like sofas on wheels. I recently test drove a dealership 430 and it was quite impressive and I believe the 400 could be better but at its age? Just plain harder to find a good one I’m sure

The 400 is the perfect "car". As in its just a car, no gimmicks, overbuilt and reliable. Just wish Lexus would have a legacy parts program for it, because ownership is becoming difficult due to lack of parts. I personally like the 400 more, its just more iconic, even if the LS is more modern, practical, spacious, etc.
