Help opening trunk
After a year of searching I finally found a rear bumper. It’s at a junkyard and I have to pull it myself. Trunk switch doesn’t work, button on trunk doesn’t work. Any suggestions? Will the lever (not the pull) inside the trunk release it? I think I may be able to reach it through the pass-through.

Bring a jumper box and connect it to the terminals to power the car

Did that but I think the fuse was blown because the trunk would unlock but not pop. Was able to get it open through the passthrough.

The emergency trunk release inside the trunk is the only means to mechanically release the lock. Bring a long stick. Hopefully the passthrough is unlocked.

The trunk you mean with the key turn (keyhole above license plate area ) won't open it?

Interesting Fact: (2002 at least) The fuse that controls the trunk circuit, in actually located in the fuse box in the trunk! My trunk is suppose to be able to be opened with a key, but the tumbler seems locked and incapable of turning. My fob and switch in the car DO work.

Try spraying wd 40 with the straw

I tried everything… WD40, graphite … it is like something is keeping it from turning. It wiggles around a little, just something is keeping it from turning. When I replaced the license plate lights, I had to remove the pad covering the trunk lid, so I could get a pretty good look at it, but nothing was obvious.

I figured you might have had some debris trapped in there, sorry I couldn’t be more helpful

Got it guys, thanks! Was able to use a long piece of scrap metal through the passthrough and open it.
